Bollywood super star Rani Mukherjee has been signed for working in Bangladeshi film directed by Nargis Akhter. According to statements issued by Nargis Akhter and local film production company SS Productions [owned by Bangladeshi film actor Shabana], Rani Mukherjee will work in a Bangla feature film directed by Nargis Akhter, which will be produced by SS Productions. Sources in SS Productions told Bangladeshi media that necessary contacts have already been established with Rani Mukherjee in this regard. But, when contacted the staffs of Rani Mukherjee, they completely declined such claims stating, there has never been any agreement regarding Rani's working in film produced by SS Productions. "We never heard of any such negotiations with Ms. Rani Mukherjee for working in any film produced by SS Production", the sources said. A student of social welfare of Dhaka University, Nargis Akhter came into media's limelight after she released her debut film Meghla Akash few years back though her entry into the world of feature film has been triggered by the censor restriction that her first documentary "Ajana Ghatak" [Unknown Predator], on the subject of HIV AIDS, faced while airing in television in 1996. Meghla Akash was also made on the same theme. Once a classical dancer and a theatre artist, filmmaking comes almost naturally to Nargis. According to cine experts, as Nargis Akhter enjoys repute in Bangladeshi film industry, it is unfair for any film production company to relate her name with the false news of signing Rani Mukherjee for any Bangladeshi film. Weekly Blitz has contacted the staffs of Rani Mukherjee for further information on this issue.
