Imam Professor Sheikh Abdul Hadi Palazzi of Italy appeared in Weekly Blitz with an exclusive interview titled 'Land of Israel is the homeland of the Jewish people'. Since publication of this interview, we received numerous emails from our readers asking supplementary questions. In this supplementary replies, he said, "To support Zionism is mandatory for every Muslim." Professor Palazzi has kindly attended each of the questions, which are set below: Q: As you said, "Qur'an specify that the Land of Israel is the homeland of the Jewish people, that God Himself gave that Land to them as heritage and ordered them to live therein. It also announces that - before the end of the time - the Jewish people will come from many different countries to retake possession of that heritage of theirs. Whoever denies this actually denies the Qur'an itself". Can you kindly quote the verse of Koran in this regard? A: About the grant (Qur'an 5: 20-21) : "O my people! Remember the favors of your Lord that he has bestowed upon you, as He has made prophets and kings from among you, and has given to you that which has never been given to anyone amongst the nations. Enter then, my People, the Holy Land, that God has WRITTEN FOR YOU, and turn not back, or you will suffer." About retaking possession (17: 103): "And We said to the Children of Israel after him [Moses]: 'Dwell in the Land, and then, when the last promise comes near [i.e. the Day of Resurrection], We SHALL BRING YOU ALTOGETHER BACK as a mixed crowd [out of various nations]." Q: Several Muslim nations are yet to recognize the existence of Israel. Some, Muslim leaders, including Mahathir Mohammed called for elimination of Israel. In such case, can we say, those Muslim nations and leaders are Koran deniers and infidals? A: An infidel is a person who knows what the Qur'an says and deliberately opposes it. None becomes infidel for ignorance or for trusting the claims of ignoramuses. Q: 02. You said in your interview "I find natural to be a Zionist and to call all Muslims to support Zionism as a necessary aspect of their religion". Can you kindly give any Koranic reference on this? A: The reference is in the two Verses I already quoted. Opposing Zionism means opposing what was foretold in the Qur'an according to what Allah wrote for the Children of Israel. Q: Is it mandatory [religious obligation] for a Muslim to be a Zionist? In this case, those Muslims, who are not Zionists and oppose Zionism, can they still claim to be Muslims? A: To support Zionism is mandatory from every Muslims who knows and understands the aforementioned points. Those who ignore them should be educated in what they ignore. Q: 03. As to promise of 72 virgins in Hadith, as you said in the interview, why Koran does not promise any reward for women in heaven? The Koran also says, there will be teen age boys in the heaven. Are they to meet sexual desire of men? A: The Qur'an promises women to be in Heaven with their families. Teen age boys in Heaven are to serve human being as cup bearers of a drink which does not intoxicates but ends thirsts. No mention of sex exists, except for Huris. Q: 04. Is it decent to marry adopted son's wife? If not, then, why and how Prophet of Islam married the wife of his adopted son and a complete verse came from Allah in this regard? A: Islam forbids adoption, which is a cause for possible incest. It encourages affiliation, which does not deprive children of the right to be their biological parents. The Qur'an considers indecent that a human being can be denied that right, and thus risk to marry his sisters which were adopted by another family. Q: Also, if according to Verse Nisa in Koran, a man is allowed to have up to 4 wives, how the Prophet had many? Is he above the Koranic commandment? A: Many of those marriages were pre-existing to the rule related to the four wives, and have a role of tribal alliance in the milieu were Islam was born. This is the reason why another verse (33:50) says what means " a derogation for you only, not for the rest of the Believers..." Q: 05. Does Koran allow marrying an infant? If not, how the Prophet of Islam married child Ayesha? If this marriage is legitimate in Islamic rules? A: In Islam a marriage of any minor child is valid if agreed by the respective tutors, but cannot be consumed and needs to be accepted by the involved persons at the age of puberty. Distinguishing puberty from legal majority is something which dates back to a century only. That is the reason why the Prophet Jacob married Rachel when she was six years old, Joseph married Mary when she was still a child, and (according to a single source, contradicted by others) The Prophet Muhammad married Aysha before the puberty and consumed the marriage after it. This kind of marriage is valid in Islam, but Muslims must abstain from it if the law of the State they live in fixes a minimum age for marriage. Most of Muslim States fix that limit in the civil code, and those who do not should be encouraged to do so. Q: Iran has 'Sharia' law allowing men to marry women under temporary marriage agreement called Mut'ah. Is it legitimate in Koranic commandment? A: Mu'tah, temporary marriage was a pre-Islamic kind of marriage which was practiced until the Prophet Muhammad abolished it. After that, the Shari'ah considers it an attempt to legitimize prostitution and forbids it. Q: Khadija was the first wife of the Prophet of Islam. She was Christian who never was converted, as Islam allows marrying non-Muslim women without conversion. But, why Islam does not give any dignified status to Khadija? Is it because, she was a Christian who sacrificed her wealth for the Prophet? A: Khadija was never Christian and no existing source ever claimed it. She was the first woman to embrace Islam. Khadija is unanimously considered the best of the Wife of the Prophet and her status is among the four best women of creation, together with Asiyah, Mary and Fatimah. Aysha and other wives do not share that privilege. Q: 08. In your interview, you have supported the proposed project of Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf. A: I have not supported any specific project. I said that in principle US citizens should be granted the right to build mosques and Islamic centers, unless people in charge of the project represent a threat to homeland security or their financial source of investment is questionable. Q: Faisal Abdul Rauf received US$ 120 million from known and unknown sources for this project. A: President Obama should ask for an Intelligence Report about the issue, but on the contrary he has Faisal Abdul Rauf on his staff. I never heard anyone claiming that he is "an Imam". He is a politician and a business-man. Q: There is also another news in Western media about transfering of Zakat fund to terrorist groups like Hamas. A: The issue is serious, and the organization which transfers Zakat funds to Hamas is none but the Muslim Brotherhood, active in the U.S. under coverages like CAIR, ISNA, ICNA, ISS, etc. However, unfortunately the U.S. Congress was not willing to pass ac act banning the activity of similar organizations from their territory. Q: Will you kindly give further explanations to this issue? A: The situation is complicated. Well identified members of the Al Sa'ud family reinvest part of the income of oil in the West in terror organizations active against Israel and against the West itself. In front of this, the U.S. politicians until now have taken no serious step. Q: How do you look into the activities of Tablighi Jamaat? It is known that they are preaching Islam. And in recent years, Tablighi Jamaat is spreading in the West. Do you see, ultimate takeover of West by Islam soon? Tablighis are also caught in being connected to terrorism. A: The belief of Tablighi Jamaat is not Islam, since they are a derivation of the Deobandi heretic sect which was excommunicated by the Ulema of al-Haramayn in 1909 C. e. upon a request coming from Maulana Shaykh Ahmad Riza Khan al-Barelwi. Until today, Sunni Muslims of the Indian Subcontinent do not pray behind a Deobandi Imam like the Tablighis, do not marry them and do not accept their witnessing in matter of religion. The are also the deviant group from which the movement of the Taliban started, with the cooperation of Deobandi supporters inside the Pakistani Secret Service. Zia'uq Haq abandoned the faith of hi fathers, and opened the gates of his country to heretic Wahhabi-oriented Deobandis. Many of those who are involved in the Tablighi movement are totally ignorant of that aspect of their sect. Q: You said in your interview "The Sa'udi regime does not fit those criteria, because it is a tyrannical regime and because its Royal Family is formed by depravity people and criminals". In this case, should Muslims wage Holy War against Saudis and Iranian regime and all those Arab dictators? A: A time will come when fighting to expel Sau'di from Mecca and Medina will become compulsory for Muslims. For the moment being, a basic principle is that no Muslim should declare war unless he is a head of State, but can volunteer as a Mujahid if any army accepts his as a soldier in a war against the Sa'udis or the Iranian regime. In any case, unless he is personally called to serve to the army, he is permitted to volunteer only in the case there is hope that the regime which will replace them would be more human and less criminal. For other Muslims who are not soldier or called by a conscription, the Jihad required is that by the tongue and by the hand: circulating information and denouncing crimes to authorities who have the power to declare war against them. Q: President Obama told an Arab leader that, he still believes himself to be a Muslim. How you look into this? A: I heard to declarations from him, one saying "I am a Christian", and the other dealing with "my Muslim faith". The Prophet Muhammad said what means "the worst of human being is the one who speaks with a double tongue". It is a sad reality that Americans chose to vote for a President Obama which is deceitful even when he speaks about his faith. Q: As you said "For a Muslim it is mandatory to follow the Sharia", does it mean that, Muslims must also support expansion of Sharia in the world as well as Jihad to fight 'enemies of Islam' such as Jews and Christians? A: The Shari'ah is not something which expands or contracts. It is something which can be observed or neglected by Muslims. When Muslims are attached by enemies, they have the right to defend without exaggerating in reaction. If Jews, Christians or members of other religions are not behaving as enemies, are accepting Muslims as their citizens and protecting their right to practice Islam without trying to convert them by force to another religion, then the Shari'ah forbids to treat them as enemies or to harm them in the minimum. Q: In your own opinion, why Islam is greatly considered as an evil religion by most of the Westerners? A: At least in Europe, the situation is surely not so. Plenty of people here are fascinated by Islam and consider it a more rational and evolute religion, especially if compared with Catholicism. The number of conversion to Islam and mixed marriages is also increasing. A minority of Europeans sees Islam as evil, and are the heirs of those Catholics who have been despising and discriminating non-Catholic minorities, like Jews or Evangelical Christians, for centuries. The arguments those people resort to is very similar to that kind of racism which caused the Nazi persecution and the Holocaust. Many European see positively the development which is changing Europe from a prevalently Christian country to a pluralistic one because they know their own history and do not want the again a religious minority treated like anti-Semites treated the Jews in the last century. Q: Will you kindly elaborate the Islamic trick of Taqiyya? Is it endorsed by Koran for Muslims to be liars and take refuge under Taqiyya. Will you kindly quote the exact verse in Koran on Taqiyya? A: Taqiyyah is not a trick but a Shari'ah rule based on the prevalent of saving human innocent lives. In Islam as the hadith says "the liar is never a believer". Taqiyyah is only permitted were identifying oneself as a Muslim who put the believer at risk of torture or murder because of his faith, like it happened in the case of Ammar ibn Yasir (16:106) In that case only, his lie is justified and it not legally considered a form of apostasy. Shiite on the contrary abused Taqiyyah as a trick to justify their tendency to regularly lie about their belief. Modern Islamist have borrowed this from the Shiites, and resort to lie whenever it is convenient for them, and misuse the word Taqiyyah in the same way they do with Jihad, Shari'ah, Zakat. etc. The represent the best example of the principle according to which "the liar is never a believer". Q: Do you think, Islam, Koran and Islamic laws require reform? Can you kindly elaborate your opinion? A: Islam, Qur'an and Shari'ah are constantly in need of reform (islah). Their goal is reforming human beings and improving their best tendencies. Q: Muslims offer prayers 5 times a day facing towards Qaba, which is a building [mosque] located in Mecca. Is there any Koranic commandment to offer prayers five times a day facing Qaba? A: It is in 2:144 "Verily We have seen the turning of your face towards the heaven. Surely, We shall turn you to a prayer (direction) that shall please you, so turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid- al-Haram. And wheresoever you people are, turn your faces in prayer in that direction. Q: Why the Prophet of Islam wished to shift the Muslims from facing Al Aqsa to Qaba while offering prayers? A: Because al-Ka'ba is the oldest Monotheistic Temple in the world, raised by Sayyiduna Abraham and Ishmael, while al-Aqsa was built afterwards, by Sayyiduna Solomon according to the will of his father David. In the time of the Prophet Muhammad, al-Ka'bah was tainted by idolatry, while al-Aqsa was free from them. Coming back to the original Qiblah of Abraham represents the announced of the fall of idolatry in Mecca. Q: As we know, Prophet of Islam was the first Muslim. In this case, who performed rituals when he married women? A: Marriage in Islam is not a ritual. It is a private contract in front of public witnesses. Q: Why names of Prophet's many wives are even unknown to Muslims. Mostly mentioned wife of the Prophet is Ayesha. Is it not a real discremenation? Koran forbids discremination of wives. In this case, did the Prophet violet Koranic commandment? A: That is not discrimination, but history. Aysha was young at the beginning of Islam, had an important role in Islamic education and played a role in the issue of the Caliphate. Other wives were older an never played a significant public role. Even so, Muslim schoalrs unanimously say that Khadijah was better than her. Q: When Koran says, the Land of Israel is blessed land of Allah for the Jewish people, how there is any reason for Muslim leaders to support the existence of Palestine? A: Because the support their interest and the racial pride ('asabiyyah), thus hiding the truth they know. Q: In Koran it is clearly mentioned that, a nation is always sent leaders according to their deeds and nature. All of the Palestinian leaders are corrupts and culprits. Does it show that, Palestinians deserve only such leaders? A: Like every people, they deserve the leaders they have, until the repent and change their ways to something best. In particular the Palestinian needs to repent by learning how suicide and terrorism are condemned by Islam. Plenty of schoalrs remembered this to them, like Ibn al-Uthaymin, Salman Farit or Tahirul Qadri. Q: Koran was re-organized by Caliph Osman. He even reshuffled the order/placement of Koranic verses. Koran is Allah's book. Is there any verse in Koran allowing Osman in doing this? If Osman could shift the locations of verses from one place to another, is there any risk of him even incorporating something of his own, either willingly or unwillingly in Koran? A: The Qur'an was edited, not "reorganized by Caliph Othman. The order of the Qur'an was already fixed by the Prophet Muhammad during the last two Ramadan's of his earthly life, when he read it all twice, together with those who memorized it. The collections of the Suras arranged in that order was transcribed over leaves and tablets, and entrusted to the custody of Hafsa. In the time of Uthman, after the battle of al-Yamama, plenty of those who memorized the Qur'an were killed in battles, and Othman decided to copy Hafsa leaflets into a single volume and to distribute copies in the different parts of the Islamic world, with the help of old memorizers like Zayd Ibn Thabit and Ibn Mas'ud. Discrepancies between the involved scholars never concerned the order of Suras or the location of specific Verses, upon which everyone agree, but only the pronunciation of some words and the location of some pauses in reading. This differences are until today admitted in reading, and marked in many printed editions by specific signs. As a matter of fact, Shiite propagandists defamed Osman by any possible mean, but never accused of choosing or altering the order of Suras or the location of Verses. Until today, Shiites claim to receive from Ali and his family a transmission of Suras and Verses which is identical to that of the Othmani edition. No alternative order of verse or Suras has ever been proposed by any Islamic sect in history. Q: How do you look into hostility of Muslim press towards Israel and Zionism? How it can be changed? A: It can be changed by preparing the ground for a change of policy, which in its turn depend on repentance and change of attitude by the people. What in sha' Allah promotes a change of attitude is education.
