Only those following Bible and Jesus Christ are angels, and all others are devils, which includes Muslims, Hindus, Jews, Buddhists, Sikhs, Jains, Ahmadiyas, Bahais etc. Responding to a reporter, who was present during the mock trial of Koran, if what he was doing is actually religious hatred, he said, "Absolutely not. This is actually what the Bible says. Jesus Christ says he is the only way, so if a religion promotes another way, then according to the Bible alone, it ends up it is of the devil." When asked, if he had ever read the Koran, Pastor Terry Jones said, "Though I have never read that book, but have heard from people who read it and even speak Arabic". He admitted that, burning of Koran is a provocative action, which actually is aimed at angering the Muslims around the world. After the controversial Koran burning, Pastor Terry Jones and his followers videotaped the entire episode and circulated it on various web sites as well as social networking sites. The tapes were also sent to various television channels in United States and elsewhere. The adverse impact of this madness is serious. Protesting Muslims have even beheaded some innocent Westerners, reportedly to protest this Koran-burning. Terry Jones is the pastor of the fifty-member Dove World Outreach Center. Sadly, there's been a worldwide impact from his misguided move. Understandably, Jones is upset at the Koran because of all the violence that book has ostensibly unleashed, from 9/11 to routine car bombs in Baghdad to the Fort Hood massacre. Commenting on Terry's burning Koran, Dr. Jerry Newcombe said, "From a Christian perspective, I believe the pastor is totally misguided in burning the Koran. This minister sees the evil done in the name of Islam, and he wants to make a point. The problem is that the point he is making has a price tag. General David Petraeus decries this move because innocent Westerners are being killed by protesting Afghans. Soon American troops can even be at risk over this. "A few years ago, there were people killed over the false report that a Koran was flushed down a toilet at Gitmo. There were even people killed by rioting Muslims who were angry over Danish cartoons. "Remember how Christians were upset in 1988 at Martin Scorsese's blasphemous movie, The Last Temptation of Christ? Remember all the violence that occurred when the film was released? There was none, to my knowledge. Remember all the theatres destroyed by protesting Christians? The only theatre destruction I read about took place in France at the hands of a Muslim who was upset because of the mistreatment of Jesus, who is taught in Islam to be a prophet. "Meanwhile, would Pastor Jones burn a book that says: Jesus is the Christ? Jesus is the Word of God? Jesus is born of a virgin? Jesus will return one day and judge the world? "The answer is that he did burn just such a book because the Koran says all of these things. It also says, of course, that God has no Son and many other things that directly contradict the Christian message. But that doesn't mean it should be torched. All that does is close the door further to Muslims potentially interested in the message of Jesus. "Regardless of the message of the Koran, the pastor is ill-advised to burn it. Since Jesus is the one who originated the Golden Rule, and since the pastor would not want a Muslim to burn the Bible, then I don't think he should burn anyone's holy book either." The burning the Koran by Pastor Terry Jones and his followers confirmed that religious intolerance and disrespect for minorities constitute the firmly established values of the country (the United States), which is boldly claimed to be the cradle of plurality, freedom and civilization. This incident tacitly insulted the Muslim identity, showing their apathy to the common values of more than 1.5 billion people who worship a unique God, believe in a celestial prophet and read a divine Book like the rest of Abrahamic religions namely Christianity and Judaism. Some commentators believe Terry Jones, as a result of certain mental problems, has carried out the devil act of desecrating the Holy Quran to win international renown. They believe his act aimed at becoming famous overnight and making money, as the pastor is going through acute financial crisis for years. The church in which Terry Jones presides has also been a center of the propagation of Islamophobic sentiments. In 2009, Dove World posted a sign on its lawn, reading "Islam is of the Devil." Several members of the church also sent their children to school in August 2009 wearing t-shirts with "Islam is of the Devil" print on the back. The 2010 Indian movie "My Name is Khan" impressively depicts the growth of anti-Islamic bias in the West in general and the US in particular following the 9/11 attacks. It portrays the difficulties of being a Muslim in the United States and the unjustifiable prejudice of the society against Muslims. The movie dexterously shows the post-9/11 prejudice against the Muslims and the fact that living in the US as a Muslim is rather difficult. According to Council on American-Islamic Relations 2010 census, Muslims constitute 2.3 percent of the US population. So, the question arises here: isn't burning the holy book of Muslims an offensive insult to this considerable minority and other Muslims living in other parts of the world? By allowing Pastor Terry Jones to burn the Koran and lately giving him protection instead of putting him into trial for giving provocations to religious intolerance, United States, which proclaims to be the country of true democratic values, freedom of expression and religion has now exposed a very dirty face to the world, particularly to the Muslim nations and populations. Masses in the world, irrespective of religious identities, oppose to religious extremism and any sort of bloodshed in the name of religion, including Jihad. They also are particularly unhappy over the actions of Terry Jones and his followers, who are pushing the Muslims towards the last corner of tolerance. There is an even valid question as to whether Pastor Terry Jones has been assigned by political opponents of President Barack Obama in putting Obama administration into a head-on-collision with the Muslim world. And, now through the latest statement, actually Terry Jones has annoyed every non-Christian individual in the world.
