It's not for years, Indian democracy traveled through ages targeting perfection in bringing free, fair and transparent peoples' administration. The people living in this vast subcontinent have been fostering the basic values of democracy in a natural way keeping the practice in personal, family, social and even national life. This practice, that is not imposed or bounded by laws necessarily, made atmosphere more democratic than that of the countries taking credit of introducing modern democracy. For her natural trend of tolerance and continuous effort towards achieving betterment India could easily adopt the changes came in all aspects of life. She could become universal receiver in true sense and universal donor as well. If we look back to Vedic times we observe a well designed, people friendly and civilized system of governance. The system provided King(the ruler) to be elected directly by the people residing within the territory. It also provided forums for the citizens to make regulations for the running of the state with both the general people and the enlightened sections of the society. We find the existence of Sabha and Samity (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the upper and lower houses) with the elected representatives of the people. Unlike in other systems, people could bring down the corrupt and tyrant king at any stage of time using their highest standard of power endowed with by the system. Such a time this howling land had according to our old scriptures. Repeated foreign aggression in different times creating havoc in all slices of life compelled India derail from her traditional track to much extent leading to present disordered democratic rule. India is now almost a silent spectator of widespread corrupt activities of politicians, self centric everything of administrators and 'go as you like' play of external and internal criminals. All are done in the name of democracy. All criminals are saved under the shadow of democracy. Democracy is being used as mere a tool for ensuring and legalizes all undemocratic actions. Government has become the largest legal fooling machine and administration the most well organized de-generator. The matter is not the blame game in any way. The prevailing situation binds every Indian go for serious introspection. Moral deterioration in polity and political mal-influence in administration have already reached their respective targets. Negative and bare mindsets have imposed their directives upon the socio-political running. Peoples' ignorance about being harmed, reluctance to take revenge and illogical painstaking attitude has been taken into granted. Maximum freedom limited to perpetrators of crime, killers of freedom of others. The phrases like 'largest democracy in the world' or 'democracy up to grassroots' level' might be correct but it's also equally correct to say that these things could not provide an ideal atmosphere yet. In spite of having enormous resources and gigantic spread India still scream to come out of clutches of criminal of all types. Why, even after six decades of independence? Why in the country having most civilized past? Who have looted the prestige and dignity of the people living in a land that still have uncountable options and opportunities to lead the world in any front ? Who, and, for what purpose, have made the country's top dwellers keep blind eye on corruption, crimes and terrorism and the problems so on …. ? Should we always think in such a positive way that gives easy passage to perpetrators? Should the people not pronounce revolt against anti people psychology? If yes, recovery of democracy from the hands of undemocratic demons is the strongest demand of present time.
