Ekushey Television [ETV] actually introduced the new trend in new casting style in Bangladeshi media. Earlier, news was always an item of extreme bore to local audiences. But, ETV very successfully attracted millions of people towards news, through their excellent style of presentation as of course, neutrality of the contents. The next channel, which followed the path of ETV is Channel-i. It also introduced news within years of commencing broadcast and like Ekushey Television, it also was able to introduce new talents in news reporting arena. Rahman Mustafiz is one of the finest creations of Channel-i, who from the very beginning proved to be a brilliant news reporter. He also attained appreciation of the audience for his investigative journalism in TV media. Though Channel-i grew to a huge size by now, Rahman Mustafiz is no more with it, for reason unknown. Then this TV journalist went to Jamuna Television [JTV], which is also a big project initiated by a local Corporate Group. Unfortunately, within weeks of commencing test broadcast, state machinery forced JTV in shutting down its signals. Such actions left hundreds of employees and journalists in JTV into unemployment as well as uncertainty. Rahman Mustafiz is not only an excellent reporter, but also is a great documentary and film maker, who had privilege of working under a number of top ranking makers and photographers in Bangladesh. He has already made several documentaries as well got appreciations from home and abroad. Additionally, Mustafiz is constantly researching on various social issues, which would become very important topic of any documentary with international appeal. A talented and brilliant newsman like Rahman Mustafiz is put offline for months. A researcher and news reporter like Rahman Mustafiz will always be an asset for any of the promising television channels in Bangladesh.
