United Airways Bangladesh Limited, the most preferred and first listed airline in Bangladesh capital market announces addition of 2nd ATR-72 aircraft to consolidate its domestic & international network. Captain Tasbirul Ahmed Choudhury said "the new ATR-72, 64-seater aircraft will primarily used on upcoming routes between Dhaka-Bangkok-Dhaka, Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka and Dhaka-Delhi-Dhaka. He also asserted that United Airways now will be able to compete with other airlines operating on the same routes. He said, Bangladeshi passengers mostly prefer "flying their own airline" and in that case, United Airways fulfils their aspiration. Captain Tasbirul Ahmed Choudhury added: "The newly added ATR-72 aircraft will result in simplified and efficient operations, which results in quickest and most cost-effective service leading to competitive fares." It was also announced by the chairman of United Airways that the company is going to purchase another Airbus 300–600, which will fly from July 2011 on Dhaka-Jeddah and Jeddah-Muscat routes. United Airways started it's journey on July 10, 2007 with it's maiden flight on Dhaka-Sylhet-Dhaka route and currently operates regular flights to all major domestic routes, including Chittagong, Cox's Bazaar, Sylhet and Jessore. International operation of the United Airways began on September 24, 2008 with a flight on Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka route. Subsequently it added international destinations like Dubai, London, Kuala Lumpur, Kathmandu and now also operates flights between Chittagong-Dubai-Chittagong and also Chittagong–Kolkata-Chittagong.
