Nepal is facing a bleak future because of the anarchic activities of the so called big three parties- Congress, UML and Maoist. Their movement of 2006 which they claimed to be of full democracy has pushed the country on the verge of breaking up. The main reason for this is India's naked interference. The Nepali Congress, UML and the Maoists do not take them as responsible when the country has clearly fallen under the grips of India. Nepalese people had expected a lot from the Maoists. But the people are betrayed by the Maoists because they fall from their ideology and anti-national attitude. Since 2005, the Indian intelligence agency, RAW has a grand design to make these party leaders swallow poison coated with sugar and to make Nepal implode. We have been saying from the very beginning that the constituent assembly elections are a ploy to destroy Nepal. Why would a country which was ruled by one or the other constitution need a constituent assembly at this time? Like India annexed Sikkim in the name of state assembly elections, India wants to capture Nepal by playing the drama of constituent assembly and to incite the country into communal war. But RAW including some leaders of Congress (I) are doing what ultimately will not benefit India itself. The leaders of Nepali Congress, UML and Maoists are for sale and they are liable to be punished by both Nepal and India. The Maoists have been acting on behalf of RAW, are falling into their own trap. In this situation, the Maoists have only one option: to find a balanced and a middle path of nationalism, democracy and monarchy by agreeing to work with the king. The Maoists may still have some arrogance communism left in them but they should be well aware that communism cannot be implemented in Nepal. King Mahendra used to say that the multi-party system of parliamentary and communism will not only divide the people but will break up the country. Actually, India can always take up the corrupt and deviant leaders of the political parties and destabilize the country, like it is doing by carrying the big three party leaders. To this, the United Nations and its representative UNMIN has become a bystander. There is nothing more precious to Nepalese than nationalism and that is why King Mahendra introduced the party less democracy in 1961. Later in 1990, the need for opposition party in the parliament was felt and multi-party system was restored. But the Nepali Congress and the UML, the biggest parties in the multy-party system failed to understand the meaning and value of nationalism and multi-party democracy. As a result of their misrule the Maoist was born. But the paradox is that the Maoist is cohabiting with those who had fixed the prices on their heads. After the power was handed over to the parties with agreement with the King, the parties, including the Maoists, feared for their safety and tried to keep it under the parliament. They also wanted to demoralize the army by confining it inside the barracks. In Britain, the model Nepal has adopted, the Queen despite having no political power is the supreme commander-in-chief of the British army. In India also the president is the supreme commander of the Indian army. Neither in Britain nor in India, has the head of the state ever tried to take over power just because they are chief of the army. In Thailand, there is monarchy but the Prime Minister is the supreme commander of the army there, but one-and-a-half years ago, the army ousted the prime minister and took over the power. No leaders who are treacherous can become safe just because the army is kept under the prime minister or the parliament. If the political leadership becomes corrupt and if there is increase of foreign interference, national army in any country must become active to safeguard the nation. Nepal Army is no exception and if it does not act terrorism will win. The national army must not remain a puppet of any one political party. It might be mentioned here that when the King was the supreme commander, the Nepal army was not mobilized to finish off the Maoist. The army was mobilized only after emergency was imposed in 2058 Bs under the recommendation of the Nepali Congress party, which was in power. But the king never wanted to mobilize the army. Therefore, the congress and UML cooked up that the Maoists were propped up by the king. Secularism, federal republic and autonomous provincial states on the basis of language and ethnicity are not in the interest of this country. Therefore, this country cannot remain safe until the leaders who are totally unresponsive to nationalism are taken action against. The election if that is being held by keeping personal vendetta against the King and is forced upon the people under terror and coercion shall not gain validity. Nepal can only remain safe if all the sectors commit to proceed ahead by maintaining a balance among nationalism, monarchy and parliamentary democracy. Otherwise, Nepal will lose everything.
