VOCARIMEX to export Vegetable Ghee in Bangladesh

Vietnam Vegetable Oils Industry Corporation [VOCARIMEX] will start exporting its world-class Vegetable Ghee to Bangladesh market from September.

VOCARIMEX is a state-owned company, previously, known as South Vegetable Oil Company, belonging to Ministry of Food and Foodstuff, established in 1976. Presently, the Company is operating under the form of Parent – Subsidiary Company under Ministry of Industry.

Mr. Đỗ Ngọc Khải, Director General of VOCARIMEX in a message, giving description of the company said, "In Vietnam particularly, we hold more than 90 percent of the market share for vegetable oils. Moreover, our products have been exported and consumed in Asian markets such as China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Japan and in Middle East countries."

He said, "In scale, we are a big corporation, operating in the form of Parent – Subsidiary Company. We have six subsidiary and associated companies: two subsidiary companies with the controlling share owned by the State [Tuong An Vegetable Oil Company, TanBinh Vegetable Oil Company], two vegetable oil joint venture companies [Golden Hope – Nha Be Edible Oils Co. Ltd., Cai Lan Oils & Fats Industries Co. Ltd.], one cosmetic joint venture company [LG VINA Cosmetics Joint Venture Co. Ltd.], and one packing joint - stock company [Vegetable Oil Packing Joint Stock Company].

"Besides, we own a specially-designed port [Nha Be Vegetable Oil Port] for receiving and exporting liquid vegetable oils in bulk/without packages. The port is under the investment project of intensive development and expansion into a multi-purpose port, capable for receiving up to 0.5 – 1 million tons of cargoes per year [including liquid/dry/general cargo, bulk/bag/ containerized cargo, etc], by the end of 2006."

Mr. Doantan Phat of Vietnam Vegetable Oils Industry Corporation said, the company is preparing to start exporting Vegetable Ghee to Bangladesh market from September. He said, this product contains Vitamin A and D and flavors and tastes similar as Butter ghee. All products of VOCARIMEX are having ISO 9001 certificates and good for human consumption.

VOCARIMEX refines 4.2 million tons of edible oil of different types every year. It has Soya bean oil, groundnut oil, sesame oil, coconut oil, palm olein, palm stearin, canola oil and vegetable ghee in its production line. In addition, the company also has cosmetics and shampoo, which are produced under collaboration of international companies.

VOCARIMEX has so far established the commercial relationship with several countries throughout the world such as: Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Russia, France, Poland, China, Taiwan, USA, Germany, Australia, ect. The company is exporting Vegetable oil based products; Agricultural grains and seeds such as groundnut, soya bean, sesame seed, cashew nut, etc; Crude oils, refined oils [coconut oil, groundnut oil, sesame oil, soya bean oil], roasted sesame oil, roasted groundnut oil, shortening, margarine, peanut butter, vegetable ghee; and Copra, coconut shell charcoal, nata de coco, coconut cream, etc.

VOCARIMEX is importing Crude oils and sub-products for processing refined vegetable oils; Specific machinery, equipment and accessories for vegetable oils processing and Plastic resins, essential oils, aromas, flavour and chemicals.
