Gardasil: 'Mercky' Merck Sinks to New Depths

It is a well known fact that pharmaceutical companies will stoop to any level to sell their wares but just how far will they go? Merck has shown over and over that they will go to any length to sell their drugs and vaccines. It has been proven that they have been involved in corruption, deceit, and fraudulent research scandals, even going as far as to hire celebrates to advertise their products to children. One would have thought that over the years this would not leave much room for manoeuvre on the dirty tactic table but Merck's latest endeavor to make money by testing drugs and vaccines on the poorest people of India, as part of a multi billion dollar business, has put them in a league of their own.

It has been reported that a total of 1,725 people have died in clinical trials in India over the past 4 years. Frighteningly this may only be the tip of a very large iceberg as according to Dr Chandra Gulhati, a leading medical practitioner, the rate of death is probably much higher. Dr Gulhati told The Tribune News:

"We have no system of independent auditors to investigate the cause of death of subjects involved in clinical trials. Whatever the investigator says is believed even if he attributes the death to a prior disease. Such investigators are always hired by the firm conducting the trial."

New America Media's Health Editor Viji Sundaram reported that the reason pharmaceutical companies exploit India is because of the vast number of illiterate and poor people willing to become guinea pigs.

One young man in the impoverished community of Dharavi, Asia's largest slum area in Mumbai, told interviewers that he enrolls in clinical trials to make a living. It is people in his situation that Merck chose to exploit, as they are only too eager to earn a crust.

One of the vaccines found to be involved in these tests is the HPV vaccine Gardasil.

Gardasil is advertised by Merck as the only human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine to help protect against 4 types of HPV. Their website says that in girls and young women ages 9 to 26, GARDASIL helps protect against 2 types of HPV that cause about 75% of cervical cancer cases, and 2 more types that cause 90% of genital warts cases. In boys and young men ages 9 to 26, GARDASIL helps protect against 90% of genital warts cases.

However, Gardasil definitely does not do all it says on the packet. In fact the Gardasil vaccine is leaving a trail of death and destruction in it's wake.

I have evidence proving that yet again Merck is up to its dirty tricks and appear to be suffering from a severe case of amnesia when it comes to marketing strategies.

When advertising Gardasil, their so called wonder vaccine, Merck forgets some extremely important facts. They miss out from their information leaflet the fact that tens of thousands of girls worldwide have suffered from the following side effects, seizures, strokes, dizziness, fatigue, weakness, headaches, stomach pains, muscle pain and weakness, joint pain, auto-immune problems, chest pains, hair loss, appetite loss, personality changes, insomnia, hand/leg tremors, arm/leg weakness, shortness of breath, heart problems, paralysis, itching, rashes, swelling, aching muscles, menstrual cycle changes, fainting, swollen lymph nodes, night sweats, nausea, temporary vision/hearing loss after receiving Gardasil. They also conveniently forget to mention that Gardasil has been associated with a total of 97 fatalities since the FDA approved the vaccine in 2006. See Truth About Gardasil website

Merck has also had serious memory loss when it comes to mentioning the important fact that Gardasil has been shown to fail to protect women against cervical cancer! Reports on S.A.N.E Vax website show that 378 women have had abnormal smear tests and 41 women have been diagnosed with cervical cancer AFTER they received the Gardasil vaccinations.

In fact since the introduction of the HPV vaccines there have been a grand total of 22,194 adverse reactions reported to the VAERS website and according to the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) these are the ones we know about. The NVIC estimates only 1 to 10% of people who suffer a vaccine adverse reaction files a report of their reaction to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System database (VAERS).

One clearly disgusted website The Refusers called the Gardasil vaccine ineffective, stating:

"Gardasil is like a bogus insurance policy that you aren't sure will payoff if your house burns down. But an ineffective vaccine is a profitable vaccine from a manufacturers' perspective. If it doesn't work, they can always announce you need more doses (ka-ching ka-ching) or introduce a booster in a few years that contains the missing strains (ka-ching ka-ching)".

Interestingly the CDC said on their website that over the last 40 years the number of cases of cervical cancer and the number of deaths from cervical cancer have decreased significantly. This, they contributed to the PAP smear test. However, despite the numbers of cervical cancer cases actually being on the decline and despite cervical cancer not being listed among the top common cancer types by the National Cancer Institute,the HPV vaccine Gardasil was introduced as the latest must have vaccination.

So why was a vaccine produced to protect women against one of the lowest risk cancers and just how did a vaccine this dangerous get approved by the FDA in the first place?

I asked my colleague Leslie Carol Botha Health Educator, author, broadcast journalist and Vice-President Public Relations SANE Vax Inc these questions; her answer was somewhat shocking if true. She suggested that one of the reasons a HPV vaccine was introduced and pushed so vehemently on adolescent girls and boys, could be that Merck is using Gardasil as a form of birth control. Interesting words from such a wise woman, but she then showed me evidence backing up her claim. She showed me that Gardasil is an endocrine system disrupter. Endocrine disrupters interfere with the functioning of the endocrine system, in at least three possible ways:

By mimicking the action of a naturally-produced hormone, such as oestrogen or testosterone, and thereby setting off similar chemical reactions in the body;

By blocking the receptors in cells receiving the hormones (hormone receptors), thereby preventing the action of normal hormones; or

By affecting the synthesis, transport, metabolism and excretion of hormones, thus altering the concentrations of natural hormones

Ms Botha also produced evidence from the SANE Vax website stating that Steven M. Rubin, Ph.D a computer scientist who monitors the VAERS database via MedAlerts has conclusively shown evidence that Gardasil has been linked to a significant number of spontaneous abortions, stillbirths and miscarriages, more than any other vaccine.

Dr. Rubin explains that:

"VAERS uses the MedDRA symptom classification, which organizes all known symptoms at five levels of detail. At the second level of detail is an entry "Abortions and stillbirth" which has under it "Abortion related conditions and complications", "Abortions spontaneous", "Stillbirth and fetal death" and "Abortions not specified as induced or spontaneous". Each of these is further refined into specific symptoms. So it seems that this second-level term (or as it is known in MedDRA, the High-Level Group Term or HLGT) is a valid way to identify miscarriages."

Dr Rubin told the SANE Vax Inc team that he had expected that the data to favor vaccines that have been given for 21 years above those that have been recently introduced; this was because such vaccines would have been given to many more patients.

However, Dr Rubin was in for a shock, as the clear winner over all previous vaccines was the Gardasil vaccine which was associated with 297 miscarriages according to VAERS database.

His advice to pregnant women is "read the product manufacturer's insert for the vaccine they are considering and speak with one or more trusted health care professionals before making a decision about vaccination during pregnancy."

Abortion Stillbirth Events from Gardasil Far Exceed All Other Vaccines

As if these shocking facts were not enough it appears that these are not the only the facts hidden from us by Merck. The SANE Vax team have also uncovered that:

1.When detected, HPV infection is easily managed and rarely proceeds to cancer

2.Very few women with HPV develop cervical cancer

3.HPV infections are only one of several risk factors for cervical cancer

4.At least 50% of sexually active men and women acquire genital HPV infection at some point in their lives — 90% of the time the virus clears up on its own within two years without incident.

5.Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) records show 3,976 women died from cervical cancer in the U.S. in 2006.

Here are a few more facts that Merck have forgotten to mention.

FACT:

If a woman who has been exposed to vaccine-relevant HPV submits to HPV vaccination, her risk of developing precancerous lesions may increase by:

44.6% - post Gardasil® Vaccination
32.5% - post Cervarix ® Vaccination

FACT:

In the September 2008 FDA Closing Statement on Gardasil it was noted that 73.3% of girls in the clinical trials developed "new medical conditions" post vaccination 17 girls died during the clinical trials.

FACT:

The efficacy of Gardasil in preventing cervical cancer has not been demonstrated and the marketing campaign has been misleading. The efficacy of Gardasil remains unsubstantiated since the vaccine hasn't been adequately tested on the primary age group to which it is currently given.

Merck promoted Gardasil primarily as a vaccine against cervical cancer, rather than promoting it as a vaccine against HPV infection or sexually transmitted diseases. Lucija Tomljenovic, PhD, University of British Columbia

This brings me back to my question 'How did this dangerous ineffective vaccine get approved in the first place?'I believe it has a lot to do with the fact that the FDA and the CDC are riddled with panel members who have conflicts of interest and financial ties with Merck.

The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) have huge conflicts of interest. A congressional report has shown that several panel members of the FDA and the CDC, the two influential advisory committees who make the recommendations on vaccine policy, either have financial ties to vaccine manufacturers or hold patents on vaccines under development and in 2005 a press release from the Center For Science identified that a total of 17 FDA panel members had either received research support or had financial ties with Merck..

Interestingly these facts were borne out further as Paul Offit from the University of Pennsylvania a member of the CDC advisory committee disclosed that he received a $350,000 grant from Merck to develop the rotavirus vaccine, in which he shares the patent. The Wall Street Journal has stated that Dr Offit is in fact paid to go around the country teaching doctors that vaccines are safe. Read Lawmakers sever ties between CDC and Big Pharma

If all this was not bad enough Merck was found to be actually paying experts to recommend the Gardasil vaccine whilst the vaccine was still in the experimental stage. According to the Norwegian newspaper the VG NETT Norwegian experts received money from Merck and then advised their government on the HPV vaccine Gardasil, which at the time was only in it's experimental stages, thus putting their own financial gain above the lives of the innocent children of Norway.

VG NETT stated:

"Four of the experts who advised the government to vaccinate all 12-year-old girls with the HPV vaccine Gardasil have received money for research from the U.S. pharmaceutical giant Merck.

A fifth expert, senior research worker Ellen Nilsen, went directly from the group which gave Health Minister Sylvia Brustad advice, to a position with the company that markets the vaccine in Norway.

There are 13 persons in the expert group".

The newspaper VG revealed that all 12-year-old girls will in fact be research test persons for Merck, if the Norwegian experts get their will.

These are little girls that Merck are treating as lab rats to further test a vaccine already proven to be unsafe.

In my opinion this clearly makes Merck the most evil drugs on the planet. They care little about public health and far more about financial gain. Despite being told over and over that the Gardasil vaccine is harming women as young as 9, Merck continue to peddle their wares to the most vulnerable in society whilst knowing that just outside their door is another 'jack ass' of a professional, waiting for them to dangle a nice juicy carrot.
