Don Baharev new chairman of IAI

At a board meeting on August 31, 2011, Israel Aerospace Industries' (IAI) Board of Directors has approved Mr. Dov Baharav as its new chairman.

Upon learning of his appointment, Mr Baharav commented, "I am privileged to have been selected chairman of IAI's Board of Directors, Israel's largest aerospace company. I would like to thank Yair Shamir, IAI's former chairman of the board, who together with IAI's CEO, Itzhak Nissan, led the company to outstanding technological and business achievements".

"We are facing significant challenges which include operating in a complex business environment and intense competition. I believe that with IAI's unique assets; capable, devoted employees and management, alongside world-leading technologies, we can together, lead the company towards new heights" added Baharav.

Baharav was President and CEO of Amdocs Management Ltd. and a member of the Amdocs Board of Directors and its Executive Committee from 2002 to the end of 2010. He became CEO during the 2001 world economic crisis. He quickly returned the company to growth and more than doubled its revenues from $1.4 billion to over $3 billion. The number of Amdocs employees also grew significantly from 10,000 in 2002 to 18,000 in 2011.

Baharav joined Amdocs in 1991 as Vice resident and was appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 1995, a position he held until being named President and CEO.

Prior to joining Amdocs, Baharav acted as Chief Operating Officer of Optrotech Ltd., a publicly held company that develops, manufactures and markets electro-optical devices. He is also a member of the board of Mellanox, Chairman of the Board of Directors at SeamBI, and a member of the board at the Israel Democracy Institute.

Baharav holds bachelor's degrees in physics and accounting, as well as an MBA, from the University of Tel Aviv.
