With the disastrous consequence of bankrupt diplomacy of the grand flopped foreign minister Dr. Dipu Moni, Bangladeshi mission abroad for the first time in the history since its independence have virtually turned into mere "foreign branch" of ruling Bangladesh Awami League, whose prime objectives are visibly to compete in sycophancy of the ruling party leaders as well as spending huge amount of public fund towards their luxury and pleasure. Weeks before trip of Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Kolkata based deputy high commission of Bangladesh was busy is providing 'guide' and 'company' to some of the family members of influential ministers and Awami League leaders in helping them in 'Eid Shopping' in Kolkata. Dr. Dipu Moni, who has been spending millions of dollars of public money in her foreign tour luxury, has so far been proved as the worst-ever minister in charge of such an important ministry. Since 2009, Dipu Moni has made hundreds of foreign trips costing at least US$ 3.2 million, wherefrom she has failed in giving anything in return to the nation. Thousands of Bangladeshi workers are sent back home every month, while the foreign minister continues to simply watching the consequence as a dumb spectator. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's only daughter's father-in-law has been made the minister for Expatriate Ministry, which basically is responsible for creating job opportunities for Bangladeshi people abroad. But, this ministry is another 'grand flop' of the current government while the minister will never worry about being dropped for failure, just because, he holds the position as a 'family member' of the PM. The setback centering Teesta and Feni water sharing treaties have put the current government into worst ever challenge. Political analysts are already considering the almost three year old Awami League government as 'clinically dead'. Bangladeshi envoy in Nepal, Nim Chandra Bhowmick is still continuing in the office, after damaging the image of Bangladesh through numerous wrong-doings, including sexual scandals. The foreign ministry has failed to take any action against Nim Chandra Bhowmick, for reason unknown. It is disclosed by the inside sources at Ministry of Foreign Affairs that, top policymakers of the government are unwilling to punish Nim Chandra Bhowmick, as they feel such actions will only prove the 'mistakes' committed by the government in selecting him as Bangladeshi ambassador in Nepal. The same source said, dozens of allegations are also lying on desks at Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding similar irregularities by a number of Bangladeshi envoys abroad, who has been appointed on political consideration by the current government. But, the foreign minister in particular is unwilling to pay any heed to these. This is not the case of failure of the foreign minister alone. Similar situation prevails in most of the ministries in today's Bangladesh. And of course, this is no good sign at all for any government. At such situation, even senior leaders of the ruling party are seeing political catastrophe for Bangladesh Awami League while most of them believe, the ruling party's popularity and acceptability is already on fastest decline. Sensing the possible political catastrophe, a number of influential Awami League leaders are making frantic bid in getting asylum or immigration status in any foreign country. Some of them have already purchased properties in countries like Australia, Canada, Malaysia, UAE etc with the goal of finally shifting to those countries, once the bell of fall of the current government turns much audible. According to information, a former bureaucrat, who now is a leader of the ruling party and was a minister during 1996-2001 tenure of Awami League, is taking final preparations of fleeing Bangladesh for Canada. Though he has applied for permission of starting a new bank, his insiders indicate that, for last 5-6 months, this leader is taking silent preparations of leaving the country anytime. Another leader of the ruling party, who went behind the dark shadow since his name, came in the media's forefront, for his possible connection with BDR [Bangladesh Riffles] mutiny at Pilkhana headquarters in 2009, may leave the country for settling in Australia. This leader, who allegedly had hands over murder of several army officers, including Colonel Gulzar during the BDR mutiny, is the brother-in-law of Shaikh Abdur Rahman, notorious kingpin of Jagrata Muslim Janata [JMB]. Syed Hassam Imam, an actor who became fugitive since the Udichi bomb blast, was hiding for years in India till Awami League came in power in 2009. It is learnt, this time he is preparing to leave for Canada with his entire family for settling there permanent.
