A number of "envoys" as well as lobbyists of former Bangladeshi army chief General Moeen U Ahmed, who is now on self-exile in United States to avoid legal consequences at home for his series of crimes and irregularities is reportedly making frantic bid in somehow approaching the Bangladeshi Prime Minister of any of her close-aides, who now are in United States for attending United Nations general assembly. The fresh bid from Moeen is to avert the recent initiatives of Parliamentary Committee in Bangladesh, who already asked the former military chief to provide written statement on an incident, which took place inside Dhaka University campus. It is believed that, some of the top policymakers in the ruling party, including Dr. Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, Abdul Jalil and Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, who had been arrested, tortured in custody and harassed by the military-backed interim government, at the instruction of General Moeen U Ahmed, are already pressing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in letting them lodge a number of criminal cases against the ex-chief of army as well as a number of military officers, who, according to them, played extreme nasty role in publicly maligning the politicians with the ulterior motive of defaming the entire democratic institutions in Bangladesh at large. Such attempts of the influential Awami League leaders are regularly confronted by figures like Dr. Gowher Rizvi, who played important role in linking his Harvard-fellow General Moeen with the supreme policymakers of Awami League. This time again, the same Dr Rizvi is playing vital role in linking Moeen's "envoys" or lobbyists with top policymakers, with the ulterior motive of getting assurance from the government in not pressing any more charges or accusations against the ex army chief, who already is at the blink of being accused of violating military codes as well as committing numerous crimes. According to Bangladesh Army code, General Moeen is already liable of Court Martial for his activities during January 2007 – December 2008. Moeen, an extreme crook by nature, indirectly grabbed power through a blood-less coup in 2007 January is accused of numerous crimes, which include, brutalities on teachers and students of Dhaka University; extorting of millions of dollars from Bangladeshi businessmen and politicians; violation of the army service rules; secret conspiracy of destabilizing Bangladesh's democratic institutions. Moreover, General Moeen's came prominently for his failure in saving lives of dozens of army officers during the February 25-26/2009 mutiny, which took place inside the headquarters of Bangladesh Riffles in Dhaka. It is told by most of the military analysts that, should General Moeen send the army striking force to BDR headquarters, immediately after the mutiny broke out, lives of many would have been easily saved, while a large number of family members would have been saved from being physically and otherwise humiliated. Analysts believe by all means, General Moeen U Ahmed, the previous chief of Army, tried his best to be the third Chief Martial Law Administrator [CMLA] of Bangladesh. Moeen started homework of a would-be CMLA much earlier than January 11, 2007 [known as 1/11] and beyond public visual by intensifying inherent weakness of discordant partners of democracy to bring politics to stalemate. Since 1/11 General Moeen had been, in fact, leapfrogging towards the power center with confidence and started reassuring public of continuation of unfinished missions of his two predecessors; to eradicate corruption and to strengthen democracy. Also about a decade or so could be the duration of his dynasty before the public anathema could bring it to a costly end. General Moeen was gradually trying to establish "Organic Democracy" in Bangladesh, which, in nutshell, is an ambiguous theory of quota-based representation of professions and vocations. He had graciously included peasants to military as defined stakeholders in democratic governance without defining the mechanism of demographic mobilization of these groups, electoral process to so called bicameral parliament and construction of layers of a harmonized and representative government body. TIME magazine published an exclusive and long-interview of this Harvard-trained military General, when we were in power. It may be mentioned here that, in the same interview, TIME mentioned Dr. Gowher Rizvi, who at that time was the director of the Ash Institute for Democratic Governance at Harvard University. Dr. Rizvi told TIME, "Moeen is truly democracy's savior when the military has so consistently impeded its growth in the past."
