Pankaj – the merchant of melodies

Zahid Bashar Pankaj is yet to be a household name in Bangladeshi music industry though by now, he already has been able to give a number of hit songs to Bangla music lovers. Young and extremely talented Pankaj rather is a silent worker who spends almost 18 hours a day at his studio researching various types of rhythm and tune. He gives special emphasis in perfection of his composition.

Couple of years back, standard of Bangladeshi music, especially lyrics and tune turned almost rotten, when some cheap people started writing songs with filthy and vulgar words, thus mostly copying tunes of Indian film songs. Even at that time, some non-singers became dominant players in the industry and were patronized by several music companies in Bangladesh, for reason unknown. Most of those singers were using various software for hiding the roughness and even lack of melody in their voice. At that time, some cheap music directors also appeared in Bangladeshi music industry that mostly was responsible for such madness in the music industry in the country. But, genuine and talented music directors like Pankaj, who actually love music, came forward in salvaging the already sinking music industry in Bangladesh. Though they did not get the proper patronization from the leaders in music industry in the country, till now, otherwise these young and talented music directors have all the potentials of definitely giving much more to the music industry in Bangladesh.

So far Zahid Bashar Pankaj has worked as music director of a number of films in the country. He also is getting new offers from some large cine production companies in Bangladesh, where Pankaj hopes to work in the coming days. He also is currently working on a number of musical albums – both solo and mixed, which will start getting released from November. He also is working on a number of mixed albums for Crown Music targeting Valentines Day and Bangla New Year [Pahela Baishakh]. Commenting on his ongoing projects with Crown Music, Pankaj said, "Though Crown is in the music industry for years, I am working with them for the first time. It is really enjoyable working with the team of Crown Music, where most of the members of this company understand music and some of them are very talented as well. This is possibly the only music company in Bangladesh, which has been able to house most of the talented musicians, lyricists, music directors and people of the musical world."

Pankaj said, "I am hopeful of present my best work in the upcoming albums of Crown Music. It is really a great delight working with such team of music lovers and talented people."
