Probe report into the brutal and bloody massacre inside Bangladesh Riffles [BDR] headquarters during February 25-26, 2009, done by a team of Bangladesh Army is reported set to be published by April 22. According to several sources, the preview of this much awaited investigation report was already completed last week. A large number of army officers were brutally murdered inside the BDR headquarters by renegade members of the border security force, while several female members of their families were physically dishonored. Anticipating the publication of this report, some handpicked number of columnist, 'social figures', think-tanks, NGOs, politicians and journalists are continuing to publish commentaries opining the trial into this brutal incident in civil court, instead of Court Martial. Several known politicians, whose names already came as the prime suspects as collaborators or conspirators of this massacre, are pursuing such people in doing everything so that the trial into this incident does not take place under military code. To stop the people whose names already came in the probe report, from fleeing the country, necessary instructions will be communicated with all the immigrations points by early next week. Meanwhile, a number of suspected politicians are reportedly planning to flee the country in the name of medical treatment or other excuses. Sensing such tendencies, restrictions may also be imposed on leaving the country without a valid medical ground, to be confirmed by a medical board, comprising representatives from various institutions. Last week, a prominent leader of the ruling party left the country on 'medical ground'. Weekly Blitz correspondent in Singapore reported quoting sources in the hospital that, although the influential ruling party leader went there for treatment of cardiac complications, doctors did not find any such difficulty. Rather he went through comprehensive medical check-up and was found to be in excellent condition by the physicians. It is highly anticipated that, sensing his involvement behind BDR massacre to have been already found by the investigators, this leader decided to leave the country under the garb of physical illness to avert possible arrest and trial. Our correspondent further adds that the ruling party leader on 'medical treatment' in Singapore is already renting an apartment in Orchard Road, which indicates that his length of stay in the country may be prolonged for months. There is no extradition treaty between Bangladesh and Singapore. Coordinator of the probe committees and Commerce Minister Lt. Col. [Retired] Faruk Khan on Tuesday told reporters that the investigation into the BDR massacre case will be conducted as per the 'desire' and 'instructions' of the ruling party, Bangladesh Awami League and the government. He further said, there is no possibility of publication of the report, prepared by the army investigation team before next 4-6 weeks. Earlier Lt. Col. Faruk Khan said militants have penetrated inside Bangladesh police and other disciplined forces. He also argued that if Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would have allowed military action on February 25 to check the mutiny, it would have resulted in 'civil war'.
