Director Rajkumar Hirani's 3 Idiots -- starring Aamir Khan, R Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Kareena Kapoor -- has already become a big hit throughout India as well as in North America and United Kingdom. "Life is a race: If you're not fast enough, you'll get trampled," booms engineering college dean Viru Sahastrabudhhe [Boman Irani]. The stakes are high: in India 2.0, students whose parents have sacrificed everything for their education are expected to reach the top. But three brainy misfits -- Farhan [R. Madhavan], Raju [Sharman Joshi] and Rancho [Aamir Khan] -- find a common bond when they realize that their futures aren't exactly inscribed in a mathematics book. '3-idiots' has already grabbed huge media coverage in India and abroad for its unique nature of the screenplay and genius performance by almost the actors. But, one point possibly misses the attention of both the audience and the media. For the first time, any Indian movie has very tactfully conveyed a message to the world that, even at the most esteemed educational institutions in India, there is virtually no flow of knowledge but simple cramming of books, where mostly those 'brilliant' students coming out hold no real capability of entering their career. Especially this movie will put negative impression on those thousands of Western institutions, which are regularly hiring professionals from India for IT sector in particular as well as other high-tech sectors. This movie also paints those teachers in prestigious institutions in India as mere 'empty baskets'. Some of the Indian newspapers are already blaming 3-idiots for instigating suicide as well as campus ragging in the country. No doubt, this movie gives inspiration to students in ignoring their teachers as well taking education very lightly. This movie also tells the students of quitting study by replacing it with mere monkeying for acquiring more marks in the examinations. In this film, Aamir Khan, who played the main role is shown to be scoring highest marks always, though he never spends any time in studies. Rather, Khan spends more times outside books and acquires as well applies all possible ways of turning the entire campus into a mere comedy-center. The 3-idiot film has also projected poverty and lack of Medicare facilities in India through the character made as parents of Sharman Joshi. This has also told the global audience that in any prestigious institutions in India, it is possible for someone to acquire a certificate even by standing first class though a proxy. This movie also has made jokes on religious sentiments of Indians. And most importantly at the end of the film, Kareena Kapoor's kissing Aamir Khan will possibly open the window of other Indian movies in following this 'kiss-path' which was treated a taboo in Indian movies even in recent times. Kissing in public is not a part of Indian culture. But, 3-idiots has attempted in giving provocation to youths in this un-traded zone.
