Bangladesh hangs five killers of Bangabandhu

Five killers of Bangabandhu, who were already inside Dhaka Central Jail since 1996 have been hanged. Meanwhile, Dhaka Central Jail sources confirmed the execution of the death sentence of Major [Sacked] Bazlul Huda and Artillary A K M Mohiuddin Ahmed..

According to information, senior government officials, civil surgeon and other people already entered the Dhaka Central Jail by 11:00 pm on Wednesday. Meanwhile, more than 4,000 members of law enforcing agencies were deployed within the Central Jail area to maintain law and order during the execution of the death sentence of five army men, who faces death penalty for assassinating the founding father of Bangladesh.

Five ambulances are already within the Dhaka Central Jail area for carrying deadbodies of the executed army officers. A source in the Dhaka Central Jail said, dead bodies of the executed killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be shifted to their relatives through these five ambulances from early hours of Thursday.

Activists of Bangladesh Awami League have started gathering within the Dhaka Central Jail area and they are chanting slogans, showing 'V' sign and awaiting for a grand jubilian rally after the dead bodies of the killers are released from inside the prison.

Five army men along with others, who are still absconding, killed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the president's wife, three sons, two daughters-in-law and approximately 20 others as part of a military coup.

The five army officers, who had been in prison in Dhaka, did not deny their role in the death of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, but had said they should be tried in a military rather than a civilian court.
