Sight of Cascading Vinalon Cotton Enjoyed

Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, visited again the updated February 8 Vinalon Complex and enjoyed the spectacle of cascading vinalon cotton.

The complex, a giant, modern chemical base, is now churning out a wide range of chemical goods and quality vinalon cotton, demonstrating the might of the Juche-oriented chemical industry.

Going round the spacious vertical spinning workshop packed with vinalon production facilities,

Kim Jong Il acquainted himself with the technological equipment and production there.

He then watched varieties of vinalon products including vinalon cotton piled up in stacks in the vinalon band fibre packing ground.

Greatly pleased to see Juche-based cotton being produced in large quantities, he said that the start of mass-production of vinalon signifies a great auspicious event for the whole country as it is another great victory won by the Korean people in building a thriving nation.

He noted that the laudable successes made by the officials, workers and technicians of the complex clearly proved that the mental power of the Korean people equipped with the spirit of single-minded unity, the strong spirit of national dignity, the spirit of self-reliance, warm love for the future and the spirit of devotion serve as a motive force to win all their victories and the master key to them.

He highly praised once again the shining feats of the workers who have not only resuscitated the closed factory by displaying indomitable willpower but made a decisive breakthrough in settling the issue of clothing by updating it into a modern vinalon factory based on the latest science and technology by their own efforts and with their own technology, and extended his deepest special thanks to them.

Noting that the complex is of key importance in effecting the plan of the WPK to radically improve the people's standard of living, he set forth militant tasks to be fulfilled by the complex to produce vinalon and other chemical goods on a large scale.

He expressed his expectation and belief that the workers of the complex would keep steady upswing in the production and construction, fully aware of their mission.

The country has never witnessed such a time as today when the outlook for the future is bright, bringing about brilliant achievements, in its history of building a thriving nation, he noted, earnestly calling once again for glorifying this year, which marks the 65th founding anniversary of the WPK, as a year of great changes and thereby bringing about a decisive turn in building a great, prosperous and powerful nation.
