Lunar New Year Concert Given by Unhasu Orchestra Enjoyed

Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, enjoyed the concert given by the Unhasu Orchestra in celebration of the lunar New Year.

The performance began with the playing of the National Anthem. Put on the stage were mixed chorus "Let's Drink a Toast," orchestra "A Bumper Harvest in the Chongsan Plain" and other colourful numbers.

Expressing great satisfaction over the fact that the performers presented a splendid concert rich in its ideological contents and high in artistry as it is pervaded with the spirit of the times and national flavour, he greatly appreciated their success in the performance.

Noting that the service personnel and people of the DPRK, who have turned out in the drive of the New Year with great pride as victors, are performing eye-opening miracles and exploits from the outset of year, he expressed his great expectation and belief that they would bring about once again great innovations and a big leap forward on all fronts and thus adorn 2010 as a year of great victory which would go down in the history of the country.
