Hackers from Canada, China and Iran earlier tried to hack into the Weekly Blitz site, which were successfully foiled. But for past few days, hackers from Morocco are attempting to hack the online edition of this anti-Jihadist newspaper. The first attempt of hacking from Morocco took place on 3rd June 2010 from IP address 41.251.94.182 [Host 41.251.94.182]. Next attempt took place on 9th June 2010 from IP address 41.141.2.83 [Host 41.141.2.83]. On the next day, June 10, 2010, the hackers again tried to hack the site from IP address 41.141.0.140 [Host 41.141.0.140]. The latest attempt was on 11th June 2010 from IP address 81.192.211.107 [Host adsl-107-211-192-81.adsl2.iam.net.ma]. Under such circumstance, we call upon the authorities in Morocco to immediately look into this matter and combat those cyber criminals, which are continuously trying to hack into Weekly Blitz site. Weekly Blitz is continuing its publication since 2003 with firm editorial policy of combating militant Islam and Jihad. It promotes inter-faith understanding and harmony amongst people of all religious beliefs. Our newspaper continues to face extreme adversity. Our office was bombed and attacked several times since 2006 and our editor was abducted at gun point in 2008. Though we lodged written complaint with Bangladeshi authorities, there has never been any action against such crime. When armed men intruded inside the residence of our editor early this year, we once again tried to draw the attention of several law enforcing and intelligence agencies in Bangladesh. Unfortunately, none of them paid any attention to this matter, leaving the personal security of our editor and members of his family into total uncertainty. US Congress passed a resolution [HR 64] in 2007 calling upon the Bangladeshi government to stop all forms of harassment of the Weekly Blitz editor, Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury. The US Congress also asked the Bangladesh government to give proper protection to this internationally known award-winning anti-Jihadist journalist. European Parliament also passed a similar resolution in the same year. There had been concerned echoed in Australian Senate, Canadian Parliament and British House of Commons. But, Bangladeshi authorities are continuing the trial into the false sedition, treason and blasphemy charges, which was brought against Mr. Choudhury by the former Islamist affiliated coalition government. According to Bangladeshi law, sedition bears capital punishment. Related Topics: Bangladesh News receive the latest by email: subscribe to weekly blitz's free mailing list Comment on this item |
