Facebook page of Weekly Blitz editor disabled

Popular social networking site Facebook has disabled the page of award winning journalist and editor of Weekly Blitz, Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury on Friday [June 11, 2010] evening without any warning.

It is anticipated that, the page might have been disabled for posting links to articles published in Weekly Blitz on Flotilla issue or might have been even done due to a note published in the Facebook page seeking help from the people for anti-Jihadist newspaper Weekly Blitz.

A mail has already been sent to Facebook authorities in this regard by Mr. Choudhury.

It may be mentioned here that, recently when Bangladesh authorities blocked Facebook, Weekly Blitz continued to publish several editorials demanding immediate unblocking of this social networking site.

Bangladesh government unblocked the site last Saturday with the pre-condition of disabling several pages from Facebook. It is yet to be known, if the page of Mr. Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury was disabled by Facebook at the request of Bangladeshi authorities.
