Weekly Blitz started publication in 2003. For past seven years, we did not receive even a single advertisement, though we have grown with a huge number of readers in the world, both for our print and online edition. We have few thousand people in our weekly mailing list, while, our readership in United States, United Kingdom, Canada, India, Australia and a number of Asian countries are greatly increasing.

Our office was bombed in July 2006 by the members of notorious Khatmey Nabuat Movement. In October same year, a group a thugs belonging to Bangladesh Nationalist Party attacked our office and physically assaulted our editor.

During military controlled government in Dhaka, editor of Weekly Blitz was abducted at gun point by the members of Rapid Action Battalion [RAB] in February 2008, while our office came under attack again on February 22, 2009 by the members ruling party, who were accompanied by an officer of the Military Intelligence.

Each time, enemies of peace and palls of Islamists tried to shut down the publication of Weekly Blitz. But, our firm commitment in fighting militant Islam and religious extremism set us back on the track and the publication of this newspaper was never stopped.
