Reader comment on: Corruption continues in Bangladesh!

Submitted by Dr. Habibul Haque from United Arab Emirates (United Arab Emirates), Feb 11, 2010 10:25

During the previous Awami League government [1996-2001], Mr. Syed Abul Hossain, who held the position of State Minister, Local Government and Rural Development was sacked by the then Prime Minsiter Sheikh Hasina after newspapers reported of an unauthorized trip to Singapore for medical check up. Mr. Hossain, a rich businessman used to see a physician in Singapore. Apparently, he went to see his doctor without proper permission from the Prime Minister. So the last statement that he "was sacked from post on numerous corruption charges" is not true.
