A key accomplice of notorious jihadist outfit Ansar Al Islam kingpin Major (sacked) Syed Ziaul Haque Zia has been tracked by the investigative team of Blitz. According to information, Abid Hassan, a former student of North South University is involved into militancy activities for a long time and has been working as one of the key accomplices of Zia.

Abid Hassan uses Grameen Phone number 0176-1973008 and most possibly resides in Dhaka’s 105/2 Azimpur Road.

Abid although has been using a Facebook account has suddenly deactivated it since May 23, 2021. By searching through ‘Truecaller’ it was revealed that this jihadist has been using codename ‘Magi’ in his telephone communication, most definitely to hide his identity.

It has been learned by the team of investigative reporters of Blitz that, Abid Hassan has been an active member of outlawed Hizb Ut Tahrir for many years. Later he was recruited by Major (sacked) Syed Ziaul Haque Zia and was assigned with the task of running cyber activities as well as terrorist activities in Bangladesh. He also had been regularly maintaining communication with fellow members of Ansar Al Islam through messaging apps, while Abid Hassan is also running a number of jihadist groups on social media platforms.
