Ghazwatul Hind notoriety continues to spread

On the occasion of Eid Ul-Adha, one of the largest Muslim religious festivals, Ghazi Khalid Ibrahim, the emir of Ansar Ghazwatul Hind (AGH) issued a statement urging Muslims of Kashmir to wage jihad. AGH, which is an affiliate of Al-Qaeda in Kashmir, is under heavy influence of Pakistan’s intelligence agencies, Inter Service Intelligence (ISI).

In his message, Ghazi Khalid Ibrahim called upon Muslim for prepare for “sacrifices in jihad against India” and said, “The objective behind the establishment of Ansar Ghazwatul Hind was to gather the believers in this region under one flag and one slogan, and to liberate the prayer-like jihad from regional and national interests so that the lands of Muslims can be liberated from occupation by the enemies of Islam and the system [of governance] declared by Allah be established on these lands”.

He notes that Muslims believed wrongly for years that “jihad is possible only when it is done under the patronage of Pakistan.” His statement should be understood in the context of Kashmir where the jihadist organizations have always been sponsored by the Pakistani intelligence agencies.

“In this deception, the criminal responsibility of all those military [i.e., militant] and non-military organizations was involved which concealed the reality from mujahideen and deceived the mujahideen,” he explains. Ibrahim notes that such organizations called themselves the jaish (“army”) of Allah, hizb (“party”) of the mujahideen, or lashkar (“army”) of Taiba (“virtue”) – a reference to jihadi groups respectively Jaish-e-Muhammad, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Ghazi Ibrahim urges the Muslims of Kashmir to stay away from such jihadi groups. His argument is that while these organizations were supported by Pakistani intelligence, Ansar Ghazwatul Hind came to free jihad from the Pakistani control. Contrary to this claim, AGH is not seen as independent of the Pakistani intelligence agencies.

The AGH emir, citing the military successes of the “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan” (the Afghan Taliban organization), urges Muslims to follow jihad in the true sense. “Congratulate each other on the victories continuing in Khurasan [i.e., Afghanistan],” he says adding that even Kashmiris have shed blood in the jihad of Afghanistan.

“The jihad of Kashmir had not begun at anyone’s behest but [Pakistani] secret agencies hijacked this jihad… In the past decade when this jihad was re-started, at that time too it was not begun at the behest of anyone. Rather, the fearless youths of Kashmir snatched weapons from Hindu soldiers and revived this jihad. But once again, secret agencies and their allies in Kashmir hijacked this jihad,” the AGH emir says, urging Kashmiris to wage jihad against India.

Ghazi Ibrahim calls upon Muslims to make “Shari’a or Martyrdom” a mission of their life, and reminds trained jihadis in Pakistan that they have stayed away from the battlefield of Kashmir despite their training for jihad. Addressing Muslims in Kashmir, he says they are caught between the “traitor Pakistani military generals” on the one side and the polytheist Hindus of India on the other.

“My dear brothers in Kashmir, we are preparing for a decisive war, a war which will become the cause of Kashmir’s independence, and which will herald the establishment of the Islamic system in India once again,” the AGH emir says.

The poisonous seeds of Ghazwatul Hind

According to intelligence sources, banned jihadist out in Bangladesh, Jamaatul Mujahedin Bangladesh (JMB), Ansar al Islam (AaI), Hizbut Tahrir, Hefazat-e-Islam and Indian jihadist outfit Jamaatul Mujahedin India (JMI) and Hizbul Mujahedin have come under a common platform with the nefarious agenda of spreading jihadist terror in India and Bangladesh. Another source said, Rohingya terror outfit Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) also has recently joined the jihadist conglomerate, while this evil nexus of jihadists has direct support from Al Qaeda and Islamic State and funding from Qatar, Turkey and Iran. Earlier it was reported in the media that, Lebanese militancy group Hezbollah and Palestinian Hamas were also tagged in the regional militancy network.

Counterterrorism experts said, formation of nexus of the jihadist outfits in the Indian subcontinent and Middle East would pose serious security threat to countries like Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Nepal, while further growth of this nexus would seriously jeopardize regional and global peace and security.

Intelligence sources said, under the Ghazwatul Hind project, jihadist groups in Bangladesh, India and the Middle East are building fund mostly through robbery, abduction, dealing in drugs, trafficking in girls and women, dealing in human organs etcetera. During the end of 2020, Detective Branch of Bangladesh Police arrested a jihadist named Anwarul Islam Hridoy. Later from his mobile phone, investigators found information centering instruction from jihadist kingpins detailing how they should build fund for Ghazwatul Hind project. Bangladeshi intelligence agencies said, Anwarul Islam Hridoy is the head of “military wing” of “Hind region”. Hridoy was communicating with various fugitive terrorists and jihadists as well as militants inside Bangladeshi prisons. Bangladeshi law enforcers said, Hridoy was staying at the residence of another jihadist named Lalu Sen alias Rahul, who was arrested in West Bengal in India by Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF). Lalu Sen alias Rahul is wanted in a criminal case in Bangladesh. He was regularly visiting Bangladesh by illegally crossing Indo-Bangladesh borders. He even has married a lawyer named Kakoli Mridha in Bangladesh. But Kakoli Mridha denied any marital relations with Rahul stating, the jihadist was visiting her husband Shanker Dutta’s house.

Meanwhile, Indian law enforcement agencies arrested another jihadist named Naziur Rahman alias Pavel alias Joseph. He is a member of Bangladeshi jihadist outfit Ansar al Islam.
