Interpol drops terrorist Ahlam Tamimi from wanted list

Name of notorious terrorist Ahlam Ahmad al-Tamimi a.k.a Ahlam Tamimi has disappeared from the most wanted list of Interpol.

On March 8, 2021, Jordanian newspaper Al Ghad said that the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) has dropped the arrest warrant against the freed Palestinian prisoner Ahlam Al-Tamimi.

INTERPOL’s decision came after the US Department of Justice included Al-Tamimi on its terrorism list on charges of participating in the 2001 Sbarro pizzeria bombing in Jerusalem that killed 15 people, including eight children.

The Jordanian newspaper published a document it said was issued by INTERPOL, in which the organization announced that Al-Tamimi, born on 20 October, 1980, is no longer subject to an INTERPOL notice since the date of the document’s issuance.

Terrorist Ahlam Tamimi’s husband Nizar Barghouti in a Facebook post wrote: With this legal victory, her name was removed from the wanted list of Interpol, praise be to God.

It may be mentioned here that, Tamimi’s husband Nizar Barghouti is also a notorious terrorist, who was detained in 1993 and sentenced to life in prison by Israel. On 18 October, 2011, Israel released him and handed over to Jordan as part of the Wafa Al-Ahrar prisoner exchange deal between Israel and mega-terror outfit Hamas, in which Israel released 1,047 detainees in exchange for the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.

Tamimi was arrested and imprisoned for her role in the bombing, and was sentenced to 16 life sentences. However, she was freed in 2011 during the prisoner swap to free captured IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.

Following her release, she hosted a weekly show for nearly five years, between 2012 and 2016, which was filmed in Jordan and jointly produced by Hamas and Jordan’s Muslim Brotherhood.

In 2013, the US Justice Department filed criminal charges against Tamimi, who currently resides in Jordan, but Amman claims to lack an extradition treaty with Washington. However, Jordan appears in the US State Department’s “Treaties in Force” document, which states that the two countries have an extradition agreement since 1995. The Trump administration had offered a $5 million reward for her capture, multiple reports noted.

In response to Interpol’s decision to drop Tamimi’s arrest warrant, the Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC) called on the international law enforcement agency to reimpose it immediately.

In a letter addressed to Interpol Secretary-General Jürgen Stock, SWC international relations director Dr. Shimon Samuels noted that removing the arrest warrant “would encourage further terrorism and deny justice and closure for the victims and survivors”.

He added that SWC “urges you to prevent INTERPOL from falling to Palestinian mayhem”.

Terrorist Ahlam Tamimi has made many other media appearances since, including on the BBC’s Arabic-language channel on October 8. This sparked outrage from the families of victims of the bombing, who urged the BBC to apologize, which it later did.

Victory of the terrorists

Interpol’s abrupt decision of dropping notorious terrorist Ahlam Ahmad al-Tamimi a.k.a Ahlam Tamimi from their wanted list clearly is a victory of mega-terror outfit Hamas as well as Palestinians and their cohorts. Most importantly, this has happened just within weeks of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris entering the White House, as well as a number of anti-Israel and anti-Semite individuals getting important positions in the Biden administration. In my opinion, it is impossible for Interpol in secretly dropping Ahlam Ahmad al-Tamimi a.k.a Ahlam Tamimi from their wanted list and withdrawing the warrant of arrest, unless there have been any signal from the US administration. It won’t even be surprising, if we finally discover Biden administration secretly cancelling Tamimi’s warrant of arrest.

This is certainly a matter of grave concern and condemnation.
