Now America’s most wanted target is Saif Al-Adel

While American intelligence established has shown a grand success by terminating Al Qaeda kingpin Ayman Al-Zawahiri in Kabul, Afghanistan, it may now look for eliminating few more dangerous jihadists, including Saif Al-Adel, who is living in Iran under the direct protection and patronization of the rogue mullah regime. Real name of this new boss of Al Qaeda is Mohammed Salah al-Din Zaidan, while he also uses few other names such as Ibrahim Al-Madani, Muhamad Ibrahim Makkawi, Seif Al Adel etcetera. Al-Adel is a shrewd military-trained new leader of Al Qaeda with experience of killing British and American soldiers. He is an officer of the Egyptian Armed Forces and fonding member of Al Qaeda, who joined pre-cursor terrorist group Maktab Al-Khidamat in the late 1980s. Saif Al-Adel met Osama Bin Laden and Ayman Al-Zawahiri by joining Egyptian Islamic Jihad (EIJ). In his sixties, Al-Adel is one of the younger Al Qaeda bosses.

At the age of 30, Al-Adel oversaw the infamous ‘Black Hawk Down’ operation in Mogadishu, Somali in which 19 American soldiers were killed and their bodies were dragged through the streets. Seven more were slain when two helicopters were shot down in the east Africa ambush, including two British soldiers, three Turks and a Frenchman.

Since the assassination of Osama Bin Laden in 2011, Al-Adel has emerged as an increasingly important strategist within the depleting terror cell of Al Qaeda. For the past 19 years, this new boss of Al Qaeda is sheltered in Iran, while his stay in Iran is seen as an obstacle for becoming the top boss of Al Qaeda. It is still unknown if Al-Adel will run Al Qaeda activities sitting in Iran, instead of relocating to Afghanistan. If it happens, Al Qaeda’s physical headquarters will be onwards shifted to Iran.

Counterterrorism experts said, Saif Al-Adel’s staying in Iran may finally stop him from becoming the head of Al Qaeda.

According to ex-FBI agent and counter-terrorism expert Ali Soufan, who suggested al-Adel would be Al Qaeda’s next leader last year, Al-Adel possesses a poker face and a caustic tongue.

When training young soldiers, he was known to kidnap them in the middle of the night and conduct savage beatings in order to harden the troops.

Al-Adel has risen to the top of al-Qaeda as much because of his own talents as by the United States’ ruthlessness in killing his superiors.

US intelligence states: ‘Al-Adel is wanted in connection with the August 7, 1998, bombings of the United States Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya’.

Two hundred and twenty-four people died in the three East Africa blasts, including 12 Americans, with more than 4,500 people wounded.

A US$10 million reward for information has been placed on Al-Adel’s head.

And with ex-leader Al-Zawahiri now terminated, the attention of America’s terrorist hunters will likely go onto Saif Al-Adel.

Following successful termination of Ayman Al-Zawahiri through drone-laden Ninja missiles, the capability of the United States in targeting key enemies and terrorists from hundreds of miles away has been proved. America may continue similar surgical strikes in the future. At this junction, it is a big question to the US intelligence establishment if they would initiate a similar attack targeting another notorious terrorist and FBI’s Most Wanted jihadist Ahlam Tamimi, who has been sheltered by the Jordanian royals for years. Jordan he repeatedly refused to extradite Ahlam Tamimi and send her to the United States for facing trial for killing innocent civilians in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Instead of spending much time in celebrating the termination of Ayman Al-Zawahiri, Washington now needs to focus on other enemies of the US, including Ahlam Tamimi.
