Hasinur Rahman, a sacked military officer in Bangladesh and Pakistani spy agency Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI)’s handler, who is plotting suicide attacks targeting ‘Victoria Memorial Palace’ in Kolkata and ‘Jantar Mantar’ in Agra, India is also maintaining regular communications with a large number of dubious individuals, pro-Caliphate Hefazat-e-Islam leaders as well as anti-Bangladesh elements such as Zulkarnain Saer Sami, Shahid Islam and others through his own Facebook ID named Hasinur Rahman. He also runs a number of groups and pages on social media platform, through which he has been running anti-Bangladesh, anti-India and pro-militancy propaganda.
Although Hasinur Rahman claims to be making his earnings through share trading at Dhaka Stock Exchange, he actually receives monthly payment from Pakistani ISI as well as several dubious sources.
Seeking anonymity a source told this correspondent, for months, Hasinur Rahman has been feeding bogus “scoops” to Zulkarnain Saer Sami (a sacked military officer living in Hungary) and Shahid Islam (another sacked military officer living in Canada) alongside forged documents, through which he has been spreading rumor about so-called abduction and disappearance of various individuals in Bangladesh. Hasinur also is the mastermind behind spreading lies about Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Directorate of Forces Intelligence (DGFI).
Shahid Islam has been appearing on a number of illegal YouTube channels with series of lies, although he claims those “information” to be obtained from a “reliable military source”. But, according to specific evidences, Shahid Islam’s so-called reliable military source is none but Hasinur Rahman. Similarly, Hasinur Rahman has also been spreading lies and propaganda materials against Bangladesh Armed Forces and Awami League government by using messaging apps such as Telegram.
Sitting at his residence in Dhaka’s Mirpur area, Hasinur Rahman has been maintaining regular communications with a large number of leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and pro-Caliphate Hefazat-e-Islam as well as imprisoned kingpins of notorious militancy groups such as Jamaatul Mujahedin Bangladesh (JMB), Harkat-ul-Jihad (HuJI), Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), Hizbut Tahrir etcetera. It may be mentioned here that Jamaatul Mujahedin Bangladesh has renamed itself as Ansar Al Islam by forming affiliation with AQIS (Al Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent) while Ansarullah Bangla Team has become franchise of Islamic State (ISIS). He also maintains regular communications with Pakistani Taliban jihadists, Lashkar-e-Toiba, Hizbul Mujahedin and Pakistan-funded militancy outlets in Jammu and Kashmir.
Media reports claim, Hasinur Rahman maintains regular communications with Pakistani Taliban jihadists, Lashkar-e-Toiba, Hizbul Mujahedin and Bangladeshi militancy groups Harkat-ul-Jihad (HuJI), Jamaatul Mujahedin Bangladesh, Hefazat-e-Islam and Hizbut Tahrir.
According to credible source, Hasinur Rahman has been assigned by Pakistani ISI to launch suicide attacks targeting ‘Victoria Memorial Palace’ in Kolkata and ‘Jantar Mantar’ in Agra, India during August 15 victory day celebrations this year. This sacked military officer is trying to recruit suicide attackers from Rohingya Muslim community in India while he also is taking help from the leaders of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), a militancy outfit run by Rohingyas.
Hasinur also is communicating with several militants within Indian state of Kerala as well as members of Tablighi Jamaat. Sitting in Dhaka, Hasinur Rahman reportedly also runs anti-India and anti-Awami League propaganda through social media as well as secret Telegram channels. He is a diehard supporter of ‘Love Jihad’ and notorious Ghazwatul Hind or Ghazwa-e-Hind project of Islamist militancy groups, that aims at Islamic conquest of India.
According to a source, Pakistani ISI has provided at least US$ 500,000 and few millions of counterfeit Indian currency with the instruction of “accomplishing” the plot of suicide attacks on August 15 in at least two tourist destination sites in India “without fail”. Accordingly, Hasinur Rahman is maintaining communications via Signal apps from his mobile number 01681722067.
It is learnt that, after getting assignment from ISI, Hasinur Rahman started communicating with Salauddin, a fugitive kingpin of Jamaatul Mujahedin Bangladesh, who has been hiding in India since 2014. It may be mentioned here that, couple of years ago, JMB has established connections with Al Qaeda by rebranding at Ansar Al Islam.
Hasinur Rahman asked Salauddin to make “necessary arrangements” for accomplishing ISI’s plot of August 15 terrorist attacks targeting two tourist destination sites in India. He also told the jihadist kingpin not to worry about “budget” while he also suggested Salauddin to maintain contacts with Hizbul Mujahedin and seek their “assistance” in this regard.
We have received evidence of Hasinur’s telephonic conversation with a notorious Islamist terrorist discussing about inciting jihad in Bangladesh against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Hindus cashing last year’s incident at a Hindu temple during Durga Puja festival. In the conversation, Hasinur Rahman is heard telling his jihadist contact about influencing a court in Narayanganj district in Bangladesh about setting an imprisoned jihadist released on bail.
According to another source, Hasinur Rahman has been making frantic bids in using Islamist forces in destabilizing country’s law and order situation since 2011. It is also learnt that he has been coordinating training of jihadists within the Chittagong Hill Tract areas, giving them commando training as well as training on explosive making and handling heavy weapons. Pakistani ISI sends his cash every month via Dubai through a company named ARY. It may be mentioned here that, ARY funded the consignment of weapons (known as 10-truck arms haul), which was seized in Bangladesh while being sent to India to an insurgency group named United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA).
In addition to fund from Pakistani ISI, Hasinur Rahman is also receiving cash from family members of executed war criminal Mir Qashem Ali and BNP’s fugitive mini-boss Tarique Rahman’s close accomplice Giasuddin Mamun. Mamun is also helping Hasinur in maintaining connections with jailed leaders of HuJI, JMB and other militancy outfits. Inside Bangladesh prisons, Hasinur Rahman is maintaining several ‘sources’ from within the convicted members of Bangladesh Rifles (now Border Guard Bangladesh) in liaising with militancy group leaders.
