Pakistan, the godfather of Al Qaeda, Haqqani Network and the Taliban

While many people may ask, as to why Pakistan should be known as the godfather of Al Qaeda, Haqqani Network and the Taliban, here is a dangerous information of Pakistan’s secret plot. According to a leaked highly-classified intelligence report, on August 31, 2021, key policymakers of Pakistani ISI held a secret meeting in Islamabad and discussed strategy of further boosting jihadist activities within Jammu and Kashmir in India, where some of the participants proposed “enhanced suicide bomb attacks” inside India, mainly targeting key-point establishments and military bases.

While the entire world and the US were remembering the notorious jihadist attacks on September 11, 2001 (also known as 9/11) and paying homage to the victims, Pakistani state machinery, especially its espionage agency Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) was busy in conspiring with its godsons – Al Qaeda, Haqqani Network and the Taliban about establishing total influence over Afghanistan and turning it into the hub of global terrorism. But the unfortunate fact is – policymakers in the US have failed to understand a simple fact – Pakistan is the godfather of Al Qaeda, Haqqani Network, the Taliban and other jihadist groups. In the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks, then Secretary of State Collin Powell designated Pakistan as a “major non-NATO ally” in fighting terrorism. Such as status opened massive opportunity for Pakistan, its military establishment and the notorious espionage agency in making billions of dollars by fooling the US and Saudi Arabia in particular as well as other Western nations.

According to counterterrorism experts, it is time for the US intelligence community to immediately sever all ties with Pakistan and exert tremendous pressure on Islamabad thus forcing it in abandoning decade-old practices of harboring terrorism. One should remember, Pakistan was created on the basis of religious hatred – especially as an anti-Hindu and anti-India nation. Meaning, the very birth of Pakistan was aimed at sponsoring religious hatred and extremism.

Western policymakers should remember:

Majority of explosives from which the Taliban crafted their roadside bombs originated in precursor chemicals from one of two Pakistani factories. Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency long sheltered Al Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad, an exclusive military base of Pakistan.

Islamabad has on purpose sheltered and even trained senior leaders and fighters of the Taliban for decades thus transforming it into a monstrous terrorist organization.

The former director general of ISI, Hamid Gul has dedicatedly served as godfather of the Taliban in particular as well as Al Qaeda, Haqqani Network and other jihadist entities. Gul’s successor Asad Durrani was not only in favor of sponsoring jihadist and terrorist activities, he had even attempted of defending Osama bin Laden while Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has recently called Bin laden a “martyr”.

Following US withdrawal from Afghanistan, Pakistani interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Described local TV channel Geo’s ‘Jirga’ program how his country had made the US military look foolish. When Taliban fighters were waving weapons and chanting slogans on the streets of Afghanistan, most of the Pakistani generals and senior officers were celebrating “Pakistan’s victory in Afghanistan”. While hundreds of American citizen and Afghan allies of the US were feeling terrorized at possible atrocities of the Taliban, Pakistani Special Forces flew helicopter gunships and drones in support of the Taliban, while some Pashtun FM radios were terming US withdrawal as “victory of Islam against the enemies of Allah”.

The leaked intel said, Pakistan may also launch series of terrorist attacks targeting Hindu temples at least in eight cities while also attack offices of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the coming winter.

Under such circumstances, experts are recommending immediate sanctions of Pakistani ISI as sanctioning this notorious espionage agency and bestowing the rogue label it deserves might be the shock necessary to rescue Pakistan from ultimately posing much greater threat to the regional and global peace and security.

Policymakers in Washington should remember, the bill sponsored by then-Senators John Kerry and Richard Lugar, which had provided Pakistan with US$ 7.5 billion for development conditioned on counter-proliferation cooperation and an assurance of civilian oversight of the military had backfired. Pakistani authorities reacted with fury, whipped up by false rumors spread by the military that Washington meant the money to “Christianize” Pakistan or infringe on its sovereignty.

The track record of the ISI is as bloody and destructive as Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force. Joe Biden and his administration should understand this plain math.
