The rise of pro-Pakistan Islamist force in Bangladesh

Babunagari, a Hadith scholar from Pakistan’s Jamia Uloom-e-Islamia, where he studied for four years is known within his inner circle as a harsh critic of India and is also rumored to be one of the madrassa voices against the war of independence of Bangladesh. The Taliban-type demonstration throughout the country and the degree of anarchism and terrorist acts would only prove Hefazat-e-Islami as an emerging threat to Bangladesh’s national security, while it may also pose potential threat to the international security.

The recent protests against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bangladesh visit was most definitely an attempt of showing muscle power of the pro-Pakistani and radical Islamic forces in Bangladesh. Undoubtedly, it wasn’t a solo show of Hefazat-e-Islam. There have been many other players, including Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Jamaat-e-Islami, Hizbut Tahrir, Neo-JMB and those leftist-Marxist nexuses. These violent and unacceptable protests over Bangladesh’s friendly neighbor India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit might – the first major action by Islamist hardliners and their cohorts following Junaid Babunagari’s riding onto the helm of key position was a part of spreading anti-India and anti-Awami League sentiment throughout Bangladesh.

We need to remember, hundreds of madrassa-educated teachers currently are employed with mosques and Koranic schools in the western nations, including Britain and the United States. All of them are heavily brainwashed with religious hatred, antisemitism, and anti-West notion.

According to media sources, at least 13 people are confirmed to have died in the “anti-Modi” protest while scores were injured. Members of Hefazat-e-Islam also crossed the redline by abducting and physically assaulting several members of Bangladesh Police, including some senior officers.

Over the three days, members and supporters of Hefazat-e-Islam clashed with the police and later, pro-government volunteers who were working to help the law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace at multiple locations, blocked highways, burnt vehicles and even attacked a passenger train. These were not any isolated incident. Instead, it was a part of conspiracy of giving instigation to anti-Bangladesh and anti-liberation war sentiment. Such atrocious acts have greatly tarnished the image of Bangladesh – a country known to the world for its track record of religious harmony.

While radical Islamists had terrorized the people of Bangladesh many controversial news outlets, including BBC was seen busy in misleading people – by maligning the image of Narendra Modi and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Commenting on Mr. Modi’s visit, Anbarasan Ethirajan of BBC wrote: Mr Modi is a polarising figure both at home and abroad. His government, led by the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has often been accused of pursuing policies that target Muslim minorities, and not doing enough to curb violence against them. The BJP denies the charges.

His contentious image appears to have sparked the protests in the capital Dhaka – and the violence that followed no doubt was an embarrassment to both countries.

BBC’s biased commentary clearly proved – this British news outlet and its Anbarasan Ethirajan were trying to justify the anarchy and terrorist acts of Hezafat-e-Islam. Let us remember – Britain in the recent years not only has emerged into a rogue nation that welcomes dirty money from around the world, it also is gradually slipping into the grips of radical Islam.

BBC in its commentary has also made outrageous attempt of harming the growing economy of Bangladesh. By doing so, British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has joined hands with radical Islamists and terrorist entities. Bangladesh and Indian authorities need to take note of it.
