Physical complications due to polycystic ovarian syndrome

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) refers to a physical condition in which the levels of female sex hormones in a woman/girl are unbalanced.  This results in irregular menstruation, ovarian cysts, infertility, and many other physical problems.  PCOS is one of the most common problems found in women.  This is called a silent disorder.

Polycystic ovarian syndrome/disease (PCOS / PCOD) is a disease caused by the accumulation of multiple eggs in the ovary.  The main reason for such loss of ovarian function is an imbalance of certain hormones.  The glands of a woman with PCOS cannot understand the number of hormones needed by the body, which is why they sometimes produce more or fewer hormones than they need so that the body’s organs cannot function properly.  As a result, the woman has to face various problems. For example, some people get a lot of pimples on their faces due to excess estrogen hormone in the body.  Some people become overweight and cannot lose weight in any way.

Due to the different types of PCOS, different types of symptoms occur in different people.

There are 4 main types of PCOS:

  1. Insulin resistant PCOS
  2. Immune-related PCOS
  3. Post-Pill PCOS
  4. Environmental PCOS

PCOS is associated with imbalanced changes in hormone levels in the body of girls that affect the uterus. Prevents the release of mature eggs.  The exact reason for such a change is not yet known.  The hormones that are affected in this condition are:

  1. Estrogen and progesterone (the female hormone that helps the ovaries to release eggs)
  2. Androgens (male hormones that are present in small amounts in the body of girls)

Under normal circumstances, one or more ovaries are released from the uterus in one cycle.  This process is called ovulation.  In most cases, ovulation occurs within two weeks of the onset of the menstrual cycle.  This normal process does not occur in PCOS.  That is, the mature eggs do not hatch.  Instead, the ovaries remain in the uterus with some amount of fluid.  This problem is directly related to infertility as ovulation is not done properly.

Other factors include:

Unhealthy eating habits

Chronic stress

Too little or too much physical exertion

Thyroid problems

Excessive intake of harmful chemicals impairs endocrine function

High levels of insulin in the body

High levels of inflammation in the body

Symptoms of PCOS

In most cases, PCOS is contracted in girls between the ages of twenty and thirty.  However, teenage girls can also be affected by this problem.

The symptoms of this disease are-

Irregular menstruation – in some cases with pain

Very little or more flow during menstruation.

Hair growth in unwanted places (such as the face, chest, back, hands, around the nipple).

Acne on the face (especially on the J-line), back, chest.

Armpit, groin, neck, breast skin becomes thick and dark and folds in the skin. – Going after hair, male pattern baldness

Throat thickening

Small breast size

Frequent mood swings

Fatigue, exhaustion

Presence of high levels of testosterone hormone in the body

Cyst in the ovary

Decreases sexual desire

If someone in the family has PCOS, then the next generation of girls are more likely to get this disease.  However, in many cases, it is possible to bring it under control by bringing the life system under control.

Eating foods rich in nutrients – The effect of our eating habits on the various hormones present in the body is very striking.  However, proper eating habits vary from person to person.  Artificial sweeteners, pesticides, preservatives, etc. can easily affect the body’s hormonal system.  For this reason, various anti-inflammatory foods such as vegetables, fruits, grass-fed meat, various types of nuts (almonds, walnuts), fats (edible coconut oil, olive oil), etc. in the daily food list.  To keep.  Not only PCOS but also many other diseases like heart disease, obesity, auto-immune disease, diabetes, etc. are effective in preventing such eating habits.

Reduce physical and mental stress: Our endocrine system regulates the production of hormones in the body and it has a direct effect on high levels of stress.  It is important to identify the issues in life that are causing stress and focus on solving them.  In this case, visiting a natural place of interest, yoga, meditation, prayers, prayers, reading storybooks, listening to songs, etc. can help reduce stress.  Loneliness, insomnia, prolonged exercise, unhealthy eating habits, etc. can also cause stress in many cases.

Getting enough rest: Proper amount of sleep helps in cell regeneration, hormone production, stress control, and even weight control.  That is why both body and mind need to get adequate rest.

Monitoring Hormone Levels: Hormones that are related to PCOS (such as estrogen, progesterone, testosterone) should be tested according to the doctor’s advice and their levels should be monitored regularly.

Exercising the right way: If a person tends to have hormonal imbalances, then he should keep in mind that his body is on a fine line of excessive physical exertion and very little exertion.  Some people get peace of mind if they do a little exercise. In some cases, it takes more exercise to get that peace. In this case, the affected person has to decide for himself how much exercise or physical labor applies to him.

Avoiding the use of harmful chemicals: Pesticides used in our food, non-pesticides, chemicals in the air/water of industrial areas, make-up tools, cosmetics that we use for beauty or other purposes use many kinds of toxic chemicals. These substances enter our skin and body through inhalation.  In other words, our bodies cannot detect these substances separately, so they act like excess estrogen and cause chaos in the body. Therefore, we should use products made from natural ingredients as much as possible in all cases.

Controlling Blood Sugar: Insulin resistance is one of the leading causes of PCOS.  Due to various physical reasons, our body becomes resistant to the hormone insulin, which is called insulin resistance.  Therefore, it is recommended that PCOS patients be kept under blood sugar control.

Weight loss: Weight loss will be followed by fatigue and constant tiredness.  Lifestyle changes and weight loss have been shown to significantly reduce the symptoms of insulin resistance and irregular menstruation.  Obesity increases the symptoms and severity of PCOS.  Although it is very difficult to lose weight in this condition, it is necessary to lose weight healthily with the advice of experts.

Taking the help of complementary therapies: Acupuncture, chiropractic services, massage therapy, herbal therapy, etc. PCOS patients get good results in many cases through complementary therapies.  These therapies relieve the body of stress hormones and promote a sense of well-being and help restore energy.

Finally, PCOS is a complex health condition and the treatment of this hormonal imbalance is different for each woman.  Therefore, there is no single solution for the treatment of this disease.  Therefore, with the dedicated patience and concentration of the sufferers, the life system has to be brought under complete control and the disease and its symptoms have to be dealt with.
