Following publication of series of reports exposing criminal activities of Zulkarnain Saer Khan Sami, Qatar-based broadcast network Al Jazeera has finally taken steps against this conman who has been falsely proclaiming himself as the “Research analyst at Al Jazeera’s i-Unit”, and was displaying such false claims on his social media accounts. As Al Jazeera authorities had blasted Sami for falsely claiming to be a member of its i-Unit, although this criminal has now altered his Facebook profile stating “Bangladeshi, Investigative Journalist”, he is still using the Al Jazeera false identity on his Twitter account.

It may be mentioned here that, Zulkarnain Saer Khan Sami has never been in journalism ever in his entire life either in Bangladesh or anywhere in the world. His claim of being a journalist is also false as his previous false claims giving numerous identities, such as an operative of Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), a handler of Pakistani spy agency Inter-Service Intelligence and even an “analyst” of Hungarian civil intelligence agency Információs Hivatal (IH).

Hungarian authorities expelled Zulkarnain Saer Khan Sami as he was staying in that country with false passport and false identities. He was living in Hungary as Samiul Ahmed Khan, which is a false name.

According to information obtained by this newspaper, Zulkarnain Saer Khan Sami alias Tanvir Md. Sadat was bearing Bangladeshi passport number EG0092902 (date of issue May 22, 2020). His Hungarian ID card number is 000529284. His second wife’s name is Aditia Firoza Khan, Passport number BJ0520244.

Despite the fact that father’s name of Zulkarnain Saer Khan Sami alias Tanvir Md. Sadat is Mohammed Abdul Baset Khan. But in his passports Sami has on-purpose changed his father’s name to “Colonel Wasit Khan” with the ulterior motive of dodging law enforcing agencies from getting hold of his criminal records.

According to information, back in 2001, Zulkarnain Saer Khan Sami alias Tanvir Md. Sadat was caught by the Military Police while entering Dhaka Cantonment wearing uniform of an army Colonel. Later he was released after giving written bond.

Prior to fleeing Bangladesh for Hungary, Zulkarnain Saer Khan Sami alias Tanvir Md. Sadat was arrested on July 21, 2006 in Bangladesh on charges of cheating local businessmen under false identity of an officer of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). A criminal case number 43, dated 21.07.2006 was lodged against him under sections 140, 170, 171, 419, 465, 467, 469 and 472 of the Bangladesh Penal Code.

It is also alleged that Zulkarnain Saer Khan Sami alias Tanvir Md. Sadat was committing numerous forms of crimes in Bangladesh by falsely identifying himself as an officer of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

Because of committing series of crimes by false proclaiming as a military officer, Samiul Ahmed Khan alias Zulkarnain Saer Khan Sami alias Tanvir Md. Sadat, son of Major Abdul Baset Khan was declared ‘Persona Non Grata’ (PNG) on May 8, 2022 by the Bangladesh Army.

Being expelled from Hungary, Sami entered the United Kingdom and on May 20, 2022 had established a company named ‘SAMS INC LTD, and been making frantic bids in getting asylum with false statements. Company number 13411356. Proposed registered office address of this company is: Kemp House, 160 City Road, London, United Kingdom EC1V 2NX. Main reason behind establishment of ‘SAMS INC LTD’ is to shift his illegal activities, such as drug trafficking, money-laundering and maintaining connections with various terrorist outfits from Hungary to the United Kingdom.

It is learnt from credible sources, with the ulterior agenda of getting asylum in the United Kingdom, Zulkarnain Saer Khan Sami has not only produced several forged documents along with his asylum petition, he also has provided false information and suppressed his past crime records.
