Mwani Qatar confirmed that Doha Port, “Qatar’s gateway to marine tourism,” contributes a major role in consolidating Qatar’s position as a leading tourist destination in the region, thanks to the cruise ship reception terminal and its advanced modern facilities that enable it to deal with larger numbers of giant cruise ships and passengers.
Mwani Qatar added, in a tweet on its official account on the social networking site “Twitter”, that Doha Port promotes economic diversification in line with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Since 2015, Qatar has proven to be one of the most sought after luxury cruise destinations during the winter cruise season in the Arabian Gulf. As part of its keenness to support this huge growth in the marine tourism industry in Qatar, Mwani Qatar is playing a major role in the redevelopment of Doha Port and its facilities.
With its strategic location in the heart of Doha, and its proximity to the city’s most famous Souq Waqif, museums and tourist attractions, Doha Port – the cruise terminal – has become a destination for giant cruise lines and luxury yachts. Doha Port provides a wide range of facilities and services to its visitors, including immigration and customs offices to ensure smooth procedures, exchange services, taxi and bus stops, city bus tours, as well as a duty-free market, a coffee shop, and waiting areas for passengers and cruise ship staff. It also provides various tourist information services provided by the Qatar Tourism Authority.
Mwani Qatar’s marine services ensure safe and efficient arrival and departure for ships calling at Doha Port. Mwani Qatar is working hand in hand with the Qatar Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Interior to develop the marine tourism industry in Qatar, which has seen a significant increase in the number of inbound travelers over the years.
