Proven extortionist Nazmus Saquib and his boss Tito Rahman, who are running criminal activities through a YouTube channel named ‘Nagorik TV’ from the US and Canada have been threatening internationally acclaimed anti-militancy journalist and editor of BLiTZ Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury, while according to information, this gang of criminals recently have teamed-up with a cousin of Interpol-wanted terror-funder Shahid Uddin Khan. It is further learnt that Shahid Uddin Khan has paid BDT 500,000 to Tito Rahman and Nazmus Saquib to run vile propaganda against  BLiTZ and its editor for the “crimes” of exposing criminal activities of a number of cyberterrorists who are continuing nefarious propaganda against Bangladesh, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, ruling Awami League and several esteemed individuals of the country.

It may be further mentioned that Shahid Uddin Khan has instructed Tito and Saquib to prepare false reports against Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury based on information provided by his cousin sister in Dhaka.

In the defamatory post on the website and social media pages of ‘Nagorik TV’ this notorious crime gang wrote:

“Why Shoaib is not in prison? Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury, who is guilty of various crimes like espionage for foreign countries, including Israel; molestation of women, trying to grab property of his blood relative; and defaming people’s character through dubious portal, etc. How and with whose help Shoaib was released from the sentence? Stay tuned to know. Nagorik TV special report is coming!”

It may be mentioned here that, Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury is the recipient of American Jewish Committee’s prestigious ‘Moral Courage Award’, while back in 2007, the United States Congress passed a bi-partisan resolution (HR-64/2007) in his defense by 409 votes. Similar resolutions were also passed by the European Union Parliament, Parliament of Australia and the UK Parliament.

It may be further mentioned that, the above-mentioned resolutions were passed following arrest of Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury by then Islamist coalition government of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Jamaat-e-Islami. In the resolution passed by the US Congress said:

“the Government of Bangladesh should immediately drop all pending charges against Bangladeshi journalist Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury”,

“the Government of Bangladesh should cease harassment and intimidation of Mr. Choudhury and take steps to protect Mr. Choudhury”.

But, sitting in the United States as an asylum-seeker, Nazmus Saquib has been directly stating that he and his cohorts in ‘Nagorik TV’ were “expecting” Mr. Choudhury to be handed life-imprisonment. They even have questioned as to why Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury was released from the prison, although he was released after serving the full term of imprisonment, proving, these anti-Semitic and Al Qaeda affiliated individuals are directly disrespecting the resolution passed by the US Congress and trying to generate public hatred against Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury and this newspaper.

Following receipt of threat message from Nazmus Saquib’s Telegram number +1-251-643-3554, BLiTZ has already brought the matter to the attention of law enforcement and intelligence agencies in the US. It may be mentioned here that ‘251’ is a city code of Alabama in the United States. Earlier on October 7, 2022 at 09:58 am, an individual called our Special Correspondent from a regular mobile phone number +44-20-8616-5694 and claimed to be Tito Rahman, the infamous extortionist of the ‘Nagorik TV’ crime racket. Tito, who does not have any journalistic background fled Bangladesh when his name came up as a member of a militancy outfit.

In the message sent from Telegram to BLiTZ editor’s mobile number, extortionist Nazmus Saquib wrote: “Mr. Shoeb Chowdhury, this is Nazmus Saquib (Nagorik TV), I am giving you last warning to remove all the false and defamatory articles that you wrote against me & Nagorik TV. Otherwise we will expose every detail of your butpari”.

The above Telegram message once again proves the notoriety of these criminals and how they are manufacturing false stories targeting various individuals including pro-Bangladesh forces such as BLiTZ and its editor.

On June 2, 2022, BLiTZ published a report titled ‘Nagorik TV’s Nazmus Saquib continues extortion and sexual perversion’, where it was mentioned:

Humayun Kabir, Ashfak Reza, Johirol Islam Munna, Waki Abdullah, Nazmun Aquib, Advocate Abdur Rashid, and Tyler Taseen.

Nazmus Saquib sought asylum in the United States proclaiming himself as a gay. But later it was revealed that he has two wives – one in Bangladesh and another in Canada, while he has been forcing girls and women towards sexual relations, making porn videos and selling those to a number of porn sites. In Bangladesh, he was associated as a part-time stringer with the now-defunct English-language daily newspaper The Independent. He resides in the Palm Beach area in Florida. The report further said: One of the victims of this crime racket is the owner of the country’s largest business conglomerate. According to information, Sakib-Titu nexus tried to extort US$600,000 from this businessman through blackmailing.

Nazmus Saquib and Tito Rahman’s ‘Nagorik TV’ had earlier provided massive coverage to an INTERPOL wanted convicted fugitive named Shahid Uddin Khan.

According to the information Nazmus Saquib and Tito Rahman of Nagorik TV demanded US$600,000 from the leading business conglomerate in Bangladesh through blackmailing. Under the US law it is a crime to use threats or extortion to persuade someone to provide the extortionist with benefits or compel the victim to behave in a certain manner. Anyone committing such crime would face charges under the state laws once someone in the United States engages in threatening type behavior, while it is also possible that the culprits face federal criminal charges, which carried severe penalties. Blackmailing and attempt of extortion is serious issue and many defense attorneys would refuse to represent a person facing federal extortion cases. According to the US law, blackmail, sometimes referred to as extortion, is the practice of: demanding money from someone in exchange for not reporting or keeping secret some embarrassing information about the person concerned.

Under Title 18 of the United States Code, Section 873, a more specific subset of blackmail or extortion is prohibited as a federal crime. Specifically, 18 U.S.C. § 873 punishes anyone who either demands or receives money, or any other valuable thing, under the threat.

In other words, extortion cases often involve someone calling a person or actually meeting them and then attempt to get that person to give some money or do something for them, or give some type of valuable consideration as part of a plot to extort them. In some cases, tape-recorded conversations are used, but there are many different angles used in order to carry out the extortion.

According to legal experts, Nazmus Saquib would certainly face charges under the US laws for his proven attempt of blackmailing and extorting US$600,000 from the owner of a large business conglomerate in Bangladesh. On the other hand, similar legal proceedings may also be drawn against Tito Rahman alias Mustafizur Rahman Tito alias Tito Rahman by the Canadian authorities. In this case, victim of the criminal gang of Saquib-Tito should bring the matter to the attention of relevant authorities in Canada.

The experts said, once allegations of blackmailing and attempt of extortion against Nazmus Saquib and his gang is proved, he would face financial penalty, imprisonment and subsequent deportation.

It may be mentioned here that, one of the key agendas of Nagorik TV is to extort cash from various individuals in Bangladesh through blackmailing and later use such amounts towards anti-government and subversive activities.
