Ideacamp supports startups

The Digital Business Incubator of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology inaugurated the seventh edition of the Creative Ideas Camp, in the presence of a number of representatives of the Digital Business Incubation Partners from state institutions and the digital entrepreneurship community in Qatar and abroad, and entrepreneurs with promising ideas who were selected to participate in the camp over a period of six weeks.
The opening ceremony of the Creative Ideas Camp included a speech in which Dr. Latifa Al-Darwish (businesswoman), consultant and trainer, and founder of Etlaq Business Management Company, participated in the audience by talking about her inspiring success story in the field of entrepreneurship.
Mr. Majid Lababidi, Acting CEO of Rawi Al-Kutub, delivered a presentation entitled “The Transformative Power of Incubation: Support and Benefits in the Startup Lifecycle”. This was in the presence of Mr. Hadi Al-Shakouri, an ecosystem developer for the Saudi Aramco Center for Entrepreneurship (Wa’ed), Mr. Muhammad Thebian, Director of Programs at Qatar Science and Technology Park, Mr. Saif Ghazi, Founder and CEO of Urban Point, and Mr. Muhammad Hammoud, Professor of Computer Science. at Carnegie Mellon University and founder and CEO of Ivy. Participants in the discussion session learned about the various benefits of the start-up life cycle.
The first workshops of the Creative Ideas Camp were held, which are scheduled to continue until the end of next June. The creative projects of the candidates will be presented to a specialized arbitration committee at the end of the camp, so that in the first stage, 40 emerging ideas will be selected, and it will be decided later to choose 25 ideas that will receive the support and guidance of the digital business incubator throughout the incubation period, and to enjoy an office space for two years, and a package of free digital services represented in Oracle Cloud Services, Amazon Web Services and Adobe suite of software. The top three winners will also receive valuable cash prizes, with a total value of 300,000 riyals.
It is worth noting that the Creative Ideas Camp is one of the largest digital business incubator programs to attract entrepreneurs, which was launched in its first edition in 2017. The Creative Ideas Camp targets entrepreneurs and owners of promising digital ideas at the beginning of their journey.
