An Interpol-wanted convicted terrorist, who is branded as “Pablo Escobar of Bangladesh” by Indian news portal The Eastern Herald is publicly claiming to be a friend of the British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. According to a credible source, since Rishi Sunak became UK’s Prime Minister, Interpol-wanted terrorist Shahid Uddin Khan is publicly boasting saying “Now Britain’s Prime Minister is my friend and recipient of donation. I am a Tory donor and most of Tories are bound to listen to me. I am the most powerful Bengali in London”.

In May 2009, Britain’s most prestigious newspaper The Sunday Times in a report titled ‘Tory donor charged with arms dealing and funding terrorism’ said, Shahid Uddin Khan was maintaining intimate connections with Tory Party MP Stephen Hammond.

In a report, Indian newspaper The Business Standard said, the [Indian] agencies suspect that the Bangladeshi army officer, allegedly involved in gun running, has links with Dawood Ibrahim’s underworld activities. Quoting sources, it further said that the former Bangladeshi Colonel migrated to London in 2009 under mysterious circumstances. He is said to have had business operations in Dubai as well as in Britain. As per the latest dossier on the Dawood Ibrahim cartel, the D company is involved in smuggling Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) and contraband narcotics.

The Eastern Herald in its report titled ‘Pornography and Nagorik TV connections with a UK Barrister’s ex-military father, a national enemy’ said, “…based on a secret tip-off, the Dhaka home of Khan was raided by the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Bangladesh Police while a large volume of explosives, weapons, jihadist propaganda materials, and counterfeit Bangladeshi and Indian currency bills were seized. Several cases were filed against Shahid Uddin Khan, his wife Farzana Anjum Khan, and their daughters, including UK barrister Shehtaz Munasi Khan”.

But the most shocking information revealed by The Eastern Herald is Interpol-wanted convicted terrorist Shahid Uddin Khan’s notorious attempt of getting Blitz editor Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury assassinated through some members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

According to the Indian news portal, being annoyed at series of investigative reports in Blitz exposing mass-swindling of hundreds of thousands of people by a Ponzi scheme named ‘Destiny Group’, “Pablo Escobar of Bangladesh” Shahid Uddin Khan used one of his gang members named Sajjad Hussain in filing a false case against Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury on November 8, 2021 at a police station in Dhaka. Immediately after filing of this false case accusing Mr. Choudhury of swindling BDT 7.9 million from Sajjad Hussain who falsely proclaimed to be his business associate, police arrested him from his residence at late hours of the night. It may be mentioned here that, although Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury did not have any business relations or financial dealings with Sajjad Hussain, police were forced to register this false case under tremendous pressure from “Pablo Escobar of Bangladesh” Shahid Uddin Khan. Immediately after being arrested, Khan sent his men at the police station to take handcuffed photograph of Mr. Choudhury. Hours later he was taken to the headquarters of Rapid Action Battalion’s Unit-1 where then Commanding Officer was waiting for getting Mr. Choudhury photographed for the second time, which would be later used by RAB when Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury would be murdered extra-judicially under the directives of Shahid Uddin Khan – the Pablo Escobar of Bangladesh.

Recently photographs of Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury in the police station and then in the RAB-1 headquarters have been circulated by a Facebook page named ‘Nagorik TV’, and been later further spread by several cohorts of Khan and ‘Nagorik TV’. Commenting on these photographs, a senior lawyer at Dhaka court told this correspondent that, it was outrageously surprising that a newspaper editor was pictured in handcuff just like a petty thief, and the second photograph of him in the RAB-1 headquarters prove – how Shahid Uddin Khan was using the state machinery for implementing his criminal agendas.

The lawyer said, this particular case now needs to be investigated by the Bangladesh authorities as well as UK and US authorities, as this evidently proves a serious violation of human rights and persecution of a journalist.

The lawyer further said, based on these photographs, criminal proceedings can be now drawn, as it is a clear evidence of attempted assassination bid.

Meanwhile, a senior journalist in UK said, “British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak should know, his so-called friend Shahid Uddin Khan is not only a convicted terrorist, but he also is a dangerous man who had attempted to assassinate an anti-militancy journalist.
