Iraq resumes production, loading and export operations from the Qayyarah oil field

The Iraqi Ministry of Oil has resumed production, loading and export operations from the “Qayyarah” oil field in Nineveh Governorate, with a capacity of (33) thousand barrels per day.
Hayan Abdul-Ghani, the Iraqi Minister of Oil, said today that the Qayyarah oil refinery in the governorate has been supplied with an amount of 3 thousand barrels per day, stressing that this step will achieve good financial revenues for the state treasury in addition to maintaining and operating the refinery, and supporting the national and local carrier in the private and public sectors, especially the company. The Ministry of Oil affirmed its keenness to expedite the resumption of production operations from the Qayyarah oil field, and work to overcome and solve technical and contractual problems, noting the importance of stabilizing and sustaining production from the field, and working to increase it according to development plans and programs.
It stated that the Iraqi Oil Tanker Company will carry out the process of transporting crude oil from the export ports to the anchor area in the territorial waters, to be loaded after that to the tankers of the companies contracting with the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company “SOMO”.
