The two-year-old ship consists of 20 decks, 337 meters long and 42 meters wide, has more than 2,700 rooms, and can accommodate 6,600 passengers in addition to its crew of 1,636.
The season of marine tourism is witnessing a great boom in the current period, and the arrival of a number of international and luxury ships, ships and yachts, after the good reputation that Qatar has gained thanks to the successful organization of the World Cup, and the keenness of a large number of tourists to visit the country, and enjoy the charming atmosphere that Qatar provides to tourists, and Arab hospitality. This month, Doha Port witnessed the arrival of a number of luxury international ships and ships, which are considered integrated cities with all their services. Qatar Tourism and Mwani Qatar announced the return of the 2022-2023 cruise season, with the expected arrival of more than 58 cruise ships and approximately 200,000 visitors between now and the end of the year. next April.
During the season, passengers of cruise ships are welcomed to the new passenger terminal, a newly designed infrastructure, simulating classical Arabic architecture. Docking at Doha Port, passengers view the newly renovated port which was recently home to major international cruise ships that provided ‘floating accommodation’ to thousands of international fans during the World Cup period, including MSC World Europa, MSC Opera and MSC Poesia.
The port is one of the newest tourist destinations in Qatar, where residents and visitors alike can enjoy the variety of restaurants and shops located there, in addition to strolling by the sea.
For international travelers, the port is ideally located within walking distance of famous landmarks, including the National Museum of Qatar, Souq Waqif, Musheireb and Doha Corniche, where visitors can enjoy stunning views of the city’s skyline.

Since the return of cruise tourism in 2021-2022 after it was halted due to the outbreak of the global Covid-19 pandemic, the cruise sector in Qatar has recorded significant growth, as Doha Port received about 8,000 visitors last December, most of whom came from Italy and Russia. The total number of visitors during the previous season was 100,500 passengers.
The new Doha Port passenger terminal can accommodate up to 12,000 passengers per day. The port is strategically located in the heart of Doha, minutes away from some of the city’s most popular attractions including the Qatar National Museum, Doha Corniche and Souq Waqif.
Qatar Tourism recently partnered with the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) in the United Kingdom and Ireland, to promote Qatar in that region as a cruise tourism destination, and to introduce it to the CLIA community, the most famous in the cruise industry, travel agents and partners, and launched its campaign Global promotional «Live an extraordinary world».
The cruise tourism sector has achieved continuous and remarkable growth over the past years, thanks to all partners from the government and private sectors, and the 2019/2020 season witnessed the arrival of 207 thousand visitors despite its incompleteness, while the 2018-2019 season achieved a growth of 121%. In the number of passengers, while recording an increase of 100% in the number of cruise ships, as more than 140 thousand passengers arrived in Qatar on board 44 ships.
