Qatar Chamber is looking to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam

Engineer Ali bin Abdul Latif Al-Misnad, member of the Board of Directors of Qatar Chamber, confirmed that the volume of trade exchange between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Vietnam amounted to about two billion Qatari riyals in the year 2022, compared to 1.5 billion riyals in the previous year 2021, with a growth rate of more than 32%, and that there are joint projects between the two countries. The two sides are in sectors such as health and pharmaceutical industries.
This came during a meeting held by the Qatar Chamber at its headquarters with a Vietnamese trade delegation headed by Mr. Noyen Phuc Nam, Deputy Director General for Asia and Africa at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, in the presence of HE Mr. Tran Duc Hung, Ambassador of Vietnam to the State of Qatar, and a large number of business owners and representatives of companies. from both countries.
During the meeting, economic relations between the two countries were discussed, prospects for cooperation between the Qatari and Vietnamese private sectors were explored, and investment opportunities available in the two countries were reviewed.
Al-Misnad added during his speech that the two countries have close cooperation relations, and that the Qatari and Vietnamese private sectors can play an important role in developing these relations through the establishment of companies, trade alliances and investment projects between companies on both sides, whether in Qatar or Vietnam, stressing the keenness of the Qatar Chamber to promote Economic relations between the two countries, and that the Chamber introduces Qatari businessmen to the investment opportunities available in various countries, including Vietnam. Al-Misnad explained that Vietnam is an attractive investment destination, as there is a desire among Qatari companies and investors to explore investment opportunities available in various sectors such as agriculture, industry, tourism, real estate, banks and others, calling on Vietnamese companies to benefit from the investment climate in the State of Qatar and the investment incentives and facilities granted by the state for foreign investments in the country. All sectors.
For his part, Mr. Nouyen Phuc Nam, Deputy Director General for Asia and Africa at the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, praised the relations between his country and the State of Qatar, expressing his admiration for the State of Qatar and its success in hosting the 2022 World Cup.
He noted that his country attaches great importance to developing economic and trade relations with the State of Qatar, and providing facilities for Qatari businessmen wishing to invest in Vietnam, noting that the opportunity is ripe for the private sector in the two countries to strengthen these relations and raise the volume of trade exchange between them.
He added that Vietnam is a country that manufactures in various sectors and is considered an important part of the global supply chain in many sectors such as electronics, clothing, furniture, coffee and others, stressing that the investment environment in Vietnam is attractive and that there are 143 countries investing in it, in addition to Vietnam’s membership in a number of trade blocs.
For his part, the Ambassador of Vietnam in Doha said that the two friendly countries have developed trade relations, and there is a presence of Vietnamese products in the Qatari market, in addition to Qatari investments in Vietnam, which constitutes a basis for the development of intra-trade. The Socialist Republic of Vietnam recently visited the State of Qatar, which aimed to develop trade, economic and investment relations between the two countries.
In a presentation, the Vietnamese side discussed the features of the economy, investment and economic components in Vietnam, and the most important industries and sectors available for investment between the private sectors on both sides, in addition to the trade relations between Qatar and Vietnam. A mini exhibition of the most prominent Vietnamese products was held on the sidelines of the meeting.
