Saudi Arabia facing propaganda assault from Iran-Qatar funded media

Despite the fact of Saudi Arabia’s significant progress in socio-economic condition mostly because of timely and bold initiatives of Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, the kingdom has been facing false propaganda run by several media outlets, which are funded by Iran and Qatar.

In Britain, Qatar and Iran have been funding several websites that include Middle East Eye and Middle East Monitor. Both the sides are continuing propaganda in favor of Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood, while continuing nefarious media assault on Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as well as serving interests of Iranian and Qatari regime. According to media sources, for years, Qatar and Iran have been helping these websites with tons of cash.

Weaker Saudi and UAE media

In Saudi Arabia, prominent English newspapers such as Saudi Gazette, Arab News or minor news outlets such as Al Riyadh Daily are miserably failing in countering anti-Saudi propaganda in the Arab and non-Arab media possibly because those newspapers and news outlets run under limitations of self-censorship. On the other hand, in the UAE, most of the major newspapers actually are run by non-Arabs – more precisely Indian nationals, who do not seem to feel the necessity of countering the anti-UAE propaganda. Instead, they mostly are reluctant in touching hard-hitting topics, possibly because of their mindset of never annoying India’s friends in the Iranian and Qatari ruling elites. Taking this advantage, anti-Saudi blocs in particular are aggressively pushing massive propaganda against the Saudi rulers. This was evidently clear when almost all of the news outlets in the world were following pro-Islamist and anti-Saudi dictations following death of Jamal Khashoggi.

Jamal Khashoggi patronized by Iran and Qatar

According to information, Muslim Brotherhood member and a propagandist of Osama Bin Laden, the notorious Saudi-born Islamist writer Jamal Khashoggi used pseudonym and spread false propaganda against Saudi Arabia and Israel through Middle East Eye in exchange for hefty amount of cash. It was earlier learned that Jamal Khashoggi was under monthly payroll of Iran and Qatar and his Turkish fiancé was an undercover spy for the Turkish spy agency, who is loyal to Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Michael Rubin, a former Pentagon official said MEE and its chief editor David Hearst had exclusive access to Hamas propaganda materials. He said, MEE was registered by a former employee of Interpal, which is a United Kingdom-based charity designated by the US Treasury Department as a financial supporter of mega-terror outfit Hamas. He further said that Hearst had penned editorials praising and defending Muslim Brotherhood.

According to Samuel Tadros of American think tank, Hudson Institute, MEE and Middle East Monitor were launched by Muslim Brotherhood affiliates as an alternative to the Qatari-based Al Jazeera to feed western readers with the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas point of views.

The UAE newspaper The National, claimed Middle East Eye coverage to have an anti-Emirati bias and noted several members employed by MEE to be originally part of Al Jazeera. The National also accused MEE of being associated with multiple members of the Muslim Brotherhood.
