Trump niece says Jared Kushner had tipped-off FBI

Mary Trump, Donald Trump’s far-left niece who has been smearing him in the media for years, suggested his son-in-law Jared Kushner could be the mole in the Trump camp who tipped off the FBI about confidential documents that were being held at Mar-a-Lago.

The raid was approved by Attorney General Merrick Garland, but it’s believed a confidential source first gave information to federal authorities.

During an interview with liberal host Dean Obeidallah, she speculated that Jared Kushner, the husband of Ivanka Trump, was the confidential source that tipped off the FBI to what confidential documents were being held at Mar-a-Lago and where they were located.

Mary Trump was asked who the informer could be and said it was “tough to choose”, but pointed to Kushner.

“I think we need to look very hard at why Jared Kushner got US$2 billion.

We need to look very hard at why he has been so quiet for so many months now. And we need to think about who, if it, who could also be implicated in this that would need as big a play as turning Donald in, in order to get out of trouble, or at least to mitigate the trouble they’re in”, Mary Trump said.

“It sounds like somebody in Jared’s position. I’m not saying it’s Jared, but it could be”, she added.

Mick Mulvaney, who served as acting chief of staff during Trump’s presidency, offered an idea last week on who he believes tipped off the FBI prior to the raid.

During an interview on CNN, Mulvaney said he believes someone within Trump’s circle could be the mole.

Below is a transcript of the exchange with CNN’s Brianna Keilar:

KEILAR: “How close do you think that person in Trump’s orbit would have to be to know the details about where the documents were?”

MULVANEY: “Really close. That’s a good question. Really close. I didn’t know there was a safe at Mar-a-Lago and I was the chief of staff for 15 months. So, this would be someone handling things on day to day, who knew where documents were, so it would be somebody very close inside the president, my guess is there is probably six or eight people who had that kind of information. I don’t know the people on the inside circle these days so I can’t give any names of folks who come to mind, but your instinct I think is a good one, is that if you know where the safe is, and you know the documents are in ten boxes in the basement, you are pretty close to the president”.

The FBI’s raid was allegedly tied to boxes of classified information that Trump had supposedly taken to his Florida estate.

Articles of Impeachment have been filed against Garland by Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.

The House’s third-ranking Republican on Friday ripped the Justice Department and FBI for targeting former President Donald Trump in an unprecedented raid on his Mar-a-Lago property a week ago.

Rep. Elise Stefanik, head of the House Republican Conference whose name has been mentioned as a potential running mate for Trump in 2024, argued that Americans have plenty of reasons to be suspicious of the raid. A member of the House Intelligence Committee, the New York Republican also pledged oversight hearings if her party retakes control of the chamber in the November midterms.

“Republicans are committed to immediate oversight, accountability, and a fulsome investigation to provide needed transparency and answers to the American people regarding [President] Joe Biden and his administration’s weaponization of the Department of Justice and FBI against Joe Biden’s political opponent”, Stefanik noted during a news conference.

“President Donald Trump is Joe Biden’s most [likely] political opponent in 2024 and this is less than 100 days from critical midterm elections”, she added.
