Bangladesh’s leading content provider resumes work after lockdown

One of the leading producers of film and drama and content provider in Bangladesh, Crown Entertainment has resumed its activities after over two months coronavirus lockdown. According to company sources, prominent makers Golam Sohrab Dodul, Azad Kalam, Shamim Zaman, Faridul Hasan, Adi Basi Mizan, and Borno Nath have already started necessary preparatory works for the beginning shooting of drama and television serials from next week. The company will gradually increase the number of directors and productions after careful observation of the post-lockdown period.

It may be mentioned here that, Crown Entertainment has already taken a number of measures for ensuring the health issues of the makers, artists, and technicians. Meanwhile, offices of the company in Dhaka are being sterilized for the safety of its staff members and the guests.

Talking to this correspondent, Tajul Islam, Deputy CEO of Crown Entertainment said, “We have a massive planning to produce dozens of single-episode dramas, television serials, daily soap, web-films, web-series, special length films, and full-length movies. Activities our company was paused on March 24 due to the lockdown. The government already has lifted the lockdown with strict instructions of beginning activities of the commercial enterprises by ensuring the safety of the people concerned. In consultation with the health and hygiene experts, we already have started disinfecting our office premises and also have formulated a detailed planning for each of our shooting units”.

He said, before the lockdown, at least 2-3 shooting units of the company were working in different locations in the country. Currently, the number of units would be increased as there is a requirement of contents both from the local television channels as well as a number of video streaming platforms.
