Moumita Mou, a promising actress in Dhaliwood

Tahmina Israt Mausumi is known in the Bangladesh showbiz as Moumita Mou. She made her debut in the big screen in a movie named Tomarai Achi Tomarai Thakaabo. Later she has also worked in a number of films named Mastani, Matir Pari. Ragi, Darad, Raktatva Sultana and Border. However, she received appreciations from the audience and media when she worked in a Dhaliwood movie named Antar Jwala, which was directed by eminent filmmaker Malek Afsari.

Due to the pandemic, few more film-ventures where she has been finalized are yet to begin shooting. Moreover, COVID-19 has cause extreme recession in the Bangladesh film industry while most of the cinema halls had to shut down. But for an energetic actress like Moumita Mou, sitting idle at home has never been an option. That is why she has started made her presence also on the small screen. A number of dramas has already been aired, especially during the Eid. According to Moumita, she has received good response for her acting in a television fiction named ‘Dhakaiya Maiya’. She wants to continue working both on the big and small screen, while she also is willing for make her presence on web series and 90-minute films on OTT and digital platforms.

In addition to her acting career, Moumita Mou has also been working as model in a number of TVCs. Some of those TVCs are already airing on television channels and digital platforms.

Talking to this correspondent, Moumita Mou said, being an artist, she wants to have presence in all the platforms, film, drama and TVC.

She said, working on television fictions have an advantage. Those go on air pretty quick and the artist can get response from the audience almost immediately. Since the television and digital platform viewers have well-accepted her acting in the dramas, Moumita Mou wants to continue working in this sector as well.

To Moumita Mou, in her words, acting is like an addiction. She wants to further explore this “addiction”, as she thinks, acting is her lifeline.
