100% placement in IIM Calcutta, students get record package up to Rs 34.2 lakh

IIM Calcutta completed the final placements for the 58th batch of its two-year MBA course on 24 February. During this period 573 offers were received for the entire batch.

The placement season concluded with students being offered an average annual salary of Rs 35.07 lakh, the institute said in a statement. Of these, students in the top 25% percentile (in terms of salary offered) were offered an annual average salary of Rs 50.86 lakh.

The consulting sector saw the maximum number of appointments (232), followed by the finance sector (86). Out of the total recruitment, the share of both the sectors was 55.5 per cent.

Financial institutions such as A91 Partners, BNP Paribas, Franklin Templeton, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Macquarie Group, Nomura participated while consulting firms such as Accenture Strategy, Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Kearney and McKinsey & Company were the top employers in the region .

Sales & Marketing (52 offers) and General Management (82 offers) together accounted for 23.4 per cent of the total placements. Companies like Aditya Birla Group, Tata Administrative Services, Vedanta are among the top employers in this area.

Software services and e-commerce recruited around 18.2 per cent. Amazon, Adobe, Flipkart, Microsoft, Navi, Paytm, Salesforce, Zomato were the top employers.
