Ahmedabad: Adani Vidya Mandir and UNICEF join hands for a unique education initiative

Adani Vidya Mandir (AVMA) has partnered with UNICEF to launch “UNICEF on Campus Knowledge Initiative” covering all school students from June to December 2023. This collaboration is being implemented by the UNICEF Office in Gujarat. The signing of the cooperation document took place on 17 May 2023.

Adani Vidya Mandir, run by Adani Foundation, provides students with a system that is the perfect blend of modern technology and traditional values. And also provides assistance in the form of uniforms along with nutritious food, books, transport facility to the students on daily basis.

This partnership will raise awareness about child rights among the students of AVMA. In addition, priority areas such as climate, life skills, body positivity and self-esteem, nutrition, anemia, online safety, financial literacy, ending violence against children will be informed.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Priti Adani, Chairperson, Adani Foundation said, “AVMA is delighted to partner with UNICEF. I am sure our students will take full advantage of this and become conscious citizens of India. Smt Sheelin Adani, Trustee, Adani Foundation, congratulated the AVMA School team for being the first private school in Gujarat to partner with UNICEF.

It will also contribute to creating a unique model in Gujarat by taking forward quality and holistic education. Several programs are also to be organized as part of this initiative, in collaboration with Elixir Foundation and other partner organizations. UNICEF Gujarat Field Chief Prashanta Dash said that she would like to start the “UNICEF on Campus Knowledge Initiative” at Adani Vidya Mandir (Ahmedabad). Is happy.

This is a 100% cost free school which gives admission to needy children. This partnership is a unique model focused on child development and participation aligned to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the RTI Act that guarantees access to quality education for all children.

The initiative aims to raise awareness about the rights of children, engage them in strategic campaigns and create platforms and opportunities to amplify their voices. I congratulate Dr. Preeti Adani and Mrs. Sheelin Adani for their leadership, commitment and vision in ensuring quality education for the children at Adani Vidya Mandir.

The initiative aims to encourage the participation of children through new digital and on-ground campaigns. Under this, children will also get an opportunity to interact with elected representatives, sportspersons, business personalities. Along with this, it also aims to identify young champions and amplify their voice through online activation and channels. UNICEF will identify youth champions of AVMA and raise their voices through various platforms.

UNICEF and the AVMA will analyze the impact of this collaboration at the end of the year and then agree to enhance and expand this collaboration for years to come.
