Monsoon will start late in Gujarat this season. This information has been given by Manorama Mohanty, director of the Meteorological Department. This time monsoon is likely to start in Kerala from June 4. Every year monsoon reaches Gujarat 15 days after the onset of Kerala. However, this time there is a possibility of late onset of monsoon over Kerala, due to which the onset of monsoon over Gujarat will also be delayed.

According to the information given by the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of normal or less than normal rainfall in this monsoon. A meeting on monsoon was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary. The action plan for monsoon operations has been discussed in this meeting.

This year, the southwest monsoon is expected to reach Kerala with a delay of four days. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the monsoon may reach the southern state by June 5. It usually enters Kerala on 1st June. It marks the official start of monsoon in the country. Monsoon is expected to be normal this year.

The Meteorological Department had given this information in the month of April. If the rains are normal, the production of food grains in the country will also be normal, which means that there can be relief from inflation. The country’s farmers usually start sowing summer crops from June 1. This is the time when monsoon reaches India. The sowing of the crop continues till the beginning of August.
