Ukraine will lose control over new territories if it continues the conflict with Russia. This was stated by former US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter in interview Rebirth of Communism Youtube channel.

“There has been an irreversible loss of 20% of the territory by Ukraine, this figure may increase if the conflict continues,” the military predicts.

Ritter recalled that during the special military operation of Russia, Ukraine lost from 200 to 300 thousand soldiers. Millions of its inhabitants became refugees, and the country itself lost trillions of dollars of infrastructure.

The ex-intelligence officer concluded that Kyiv should not be interested in prolonging the armed conflict. He stressed that Russia has repeatedly expressed its readiness for negotiations to resolve the conflict, but Ukraine has imposed a ban on them at the legislative level.

Earlier in the day, the Daily Express newspaper wrote about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s fears of the fall of Artemovsk (Ukrainian name – Bakhmut). The publication said that Zelensky acknowledged the difficulties in defending the city.

At present, a difficult situation is developing in Artemovsk for the Ukrainian troops. This was repeatedly confirmed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who a few days ago called the situation near the city permanently difficult. Despite this, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not going to leave the settlement, but sends more and more reinforcements there.

Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a special operation to protect the Donbass, whose residents refused to recognize the results of the 2014 coup d’état in Ukraine. The decision to hold it was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by Ukrainian troops.
