In Tajikistan, experts recorded a new earthquake of magnitude 5. About this informed February 28 European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

According to seismologists, the epicenter of the natural disaster was located 58 km southwest of the settlement of Murgab, which is home to 10.8 thousand people. The source of the earthquake lay at a depth of 60 km.

No casualties or damage are yet known.

Earlier, an earthquake on the border of Tajikistan and China occurred on February 23. It was noted that the source occurred at a depth of 10 km. And the epicenter of the earthquake was located about 82 km from the Chinese border, tremors were felt in Kashgar and Xinjiang.

On the same day, new tremors of magnitude 5 were recorded near Lake Sarez in Tajikistan. No casualties or destruction were recorded. According to the director of the Institute for the Theory of Earthquake Prediction, Petr Shebalin, the earthquake has nothing to do with the earthquake in Turkey.

On February 27, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 was recorded in Kyrgyzstan. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 279 km southeast of the city of Almaty.
