Washington, 22 April (Hindustan). US President Joe Biden is very excited to visit India in September this year. America’s Assistant Secretary of State and in-charge of South and Central Asia Donald Lu has also shared that one million Indians can get US visas this year.
Donald Lu said that the year 2023 is going to be very important for the relationship between India and America. The US President is excited to visit India in September. This will be Biden’s first visit to India to attend the G-20 leaders’ summit. Lu said that with this visit, the US is looking forward to the developments in the next few months during which India-US relations will set a new dimension.
Lu said that the Biden government would soon start the process of issuing visas. America may issue visas to one million Indians this year. The US will begin prioritizing visas to workers, including H-1B and L visas, from this week. Giving one million visas this year will be a record. At present, the increasing waiting time for US visa in India is a cause of concern. People applying for US visa for the first time have to wait for a year. This is the reason why the US has decided to issue a large number of visas to attract students and skilled workers from India.
