Bihar: 65 arrested for malpractice in Prohibition Constable exam, more than 14 sheters held simultaneously in Patna

The written examination conducted by the Central Selection Board (Constable Recruitment) on Sunday for the recruitment of 689 posts of Prohibition Constable in Bihar was peaceful. About 76 percent of the candidates appeared in the examination at the centers set up in all 38 districts. According to the council, e-admit cards were issued to 3,65,215 candidates to appear in the examination, out of which 2,77,563 candidates appeared.

65 arrested for misconduct

Council’s OSD Rajkishore Baitha said that during the examination, 65 candidates were arrested in different districts on charges of attempting malpractice. An FIR has been lodged against all of them in the local police station of the concerned district by the Central Superintendent. During the investigation, six mobiles and 29 Bluetooth devices were also seized from the candidates and their associates.

668 examination centers were made

The official said that the written examination was conducted in one shift in all the 38 districts of the state. A total of 668 examination centers were made for this. He told that thumb impressions and photographs of the candidates have also been taken through biometric method during the examination. Along with this, jammers were also installed at each examination center. Stickers containing photos, names and roll numbers of the candidates were also used for malpractice-free and peaceful examination.

Caught more than 14 sheeters gathered for rigging

Police raided a hostel in Patna’s Bahadurpur police station area on Sunday and caught more than 14 shelters on the information of rigging in the written examination of prohibition constable recruitment. The police had received a tip-off that all the boarders were sitting in the hostels and their scholars were giving exams at the centres. As soon as the information was received, DSP of Bahadurpur police station raided by forming a team. A case has also been registered against six of the 14 arrested. The DSP himself was interrogating the people taken into custody till late night.
