Big action has been taken by the district administration on illegal sand in Arrah, Bihar. It is being told that apart from illegal sand mining and transportation, 17 overloaded vehicles including four poklen were seized under a special campaign launched by the police on the instructions of District Magistrate Raj Kumar and SP Pramod Kumar Yadav regarding the operation of overloaded sand. A fine of Rs one crore 85 lakh has been imposed on these seized vehicles by the Mining and Transport Department. Four Poklane and two tractors were seized from the banks of Semra Diyara Son river in Koilwar police station area. While six overloaded sand trucks were seized from Sandesh police station area, four from Koilwar area and one from Barhara police station area.
In this regard, the District Magistrate said that a special campaign was launched to prevent illegal mining and transportation of overloaded sand, in which, apart from the Mining Officer, Mines Inspector and Police Station Officer, Special Armed Forces (SAIF) jawans and BMP jawans were kept. The raid was conducted by the team on the banks of the Semra Diyara Son river in Koilwar. During this, half a dozen vehicles were seized. Mining and Transport Department imposed a fine of Rs 1 crore 50 lakh on the seized poklen and tractor. At the same time, 6 trucks laden with illegal sand were seized by the Mining Department from Sandesh police station area, four from Koilwar area, one from Badhara. On which a fine of Rs 35 lakh was imposed by the mining department.
